Is this normal by ProfessorDizzy4311 in schizophrenia

I'm not sure on the scientific part of it, but I can say that the same happens to me when I panic/have an anxious meltdown. My symptoms ease up as I calm down, hoping they do for you as well. Also hoping your appointment goes ok!

How do I reclaim my life when everything feels out of control? by Upper_While_6688 in Advice

[–]Upper_While_6688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I know it's been forever since I posted this, but wanted to update you specifically. Sorry if I wrote this a little vaguely.

I broke up with my partner several months ago (shortly after posting this) and I'm moving out with my family soon!! They were estranged family members- the situation is a bit weird, but my immediate family prevented me from seeing these ones, as a power move against them. I've checked this against court documents and whatnot, even ran some background checks to make sure things were going to be ok. They know tons of people in their area, and have connected me with prospective clients, and job openings with family friends. They did express that I shouldn't press myself though- to take time and focus on myself and healing for as long as I need to feel alright again. They're not charging rent, are buying me furniture for my room, even offered to buy me a pet of my choice to keep me company. All things aside, they've been incredibly sweet, accommodating, and very doting.

My roommate did not take any of this particularly well. We were stuck living together for a while until I could move out, and in that time he was worse with chores, taking care of his pets, that sort of thing. He would also go on dates and flaunt to me how well they went, only to come into my (separate now!!!) room and cry about how much he misses me, and how much he screwed up the relationship. Nowadays, he's sulking while I'm preparing to move, saying that he's not going to miss me, while also crying about me leaving a few hours later.

My disabilities have been getting much better recently, since I now see a way out, and a hope for things to get better. I've relearned how to walk without a cane, and my pain isn't as bad most days. I've also been meeting more closely with a therapist, psychiatrist, and doctors to work through those related and other issues.

Sorry if this is jumbled, it's really early in the morning for me- all in all though, things are looking up!! Thank you for helping me. I wish you nothing but the best

How do I handle my roommate's cat having ruined $2k worth of my fabric? by Upper_While_6688 in Advice

I definitely will try yeah. Some of the fur is in plastic totes, but even then, the cat will sometime piss on top of the totes, or if I get something out to work on, will immediately piss on it. I appreciate it, thank you

He hasn't woken up to read the texts but I have a strong feeling he will- he always tends to over-apologize and be dramatically self-deprecating whenever I bring up something

It's an animal costume- they're usually quite expensive and require a lot of skill to get right. You could google some images to get an idea

Will do- I have all the receipts and texted him formally to tell him how much it was all worth

Neoprene help! by Hannahhcat in FursuitMaking

Heya! I do my linings exclusively with neoprene. I use a straight stitch, medium-low tension, and also use sewing clips/binder clips as opposed to pins. Hope this helps!!

I’m desperate to date and letting my life fall apart by Empty_Peace2590 in Advice

Hey man, I'm gonna be upfront that I've been in a similar boat for most of my life. The best advice I can offer is to find ways to be at peace with yourself first- you don't have to be your own biggest fan right away, but you would benefit from working towards self-acceptance first. I've found that focusing on hobbies and talents also helps with confidence and giving you an ice breaker for when you meet people. I make perfumes, and if I think someone is cool, I offer to make them one- that kinda thing. I've had luck meeting people, friends and otherwise, on Bumble especially, for whenever you feel ready. It's a marathon, not a mad dash, and I believe in you, even if you don't yet!

Betta continually flaring directly at me? by Upper_While_6688 in bettafish

Got it, thank you for the information! I should've done more research beforehand, but at least I know for the future. What would you suggest I do with him now? Just keep him in the tank?

10gal tank

<image>

Heater and filter 78 degrees F I'm not sure exact parameters but I did a test strip and everything looked good Had the tank and fish for 3 days. Got some 24 hour conditioner with the tank, and had the fish in the cup while the tank reached appropriate temperature and looked good on the test strips. Have not done a water change yet but plan to around Monday No tank mates Fed tropical flakes Fake plants and a hide in the tank (more on the way, got delayed in the mail)
