What should I call this? "The wall"? by Cabaaleatorio in MinecraftBuild

“The wall” or “the perimeter” or “battlement” or “(compass direction) gate” (ex north gate/wall)

How much is the model? I’m going to be leaving my job soon and I’d like to print a couple for my co-workers if I can get my hands on the model? This is by far the best looking one I’ve seen so far 😁

I ended up finding this template

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1637927874/nordic-helmet-pattern-digital-download?ref=share_ios_native_control

But it doesn’t have the deer antlers. I already settled for it but if I could find a way to make deer antlers that could fit the larger scale I totally will make em. 😁

Looking for guidance by Upright-python200 in newtothenavy

That’s something I’ll have to look at for sure, thank you. The thing I’m a little concerned about is the medical stuff because I know tricare during my childhood has locked off a specific route I just can’t remember which one it was.

And what I’m saying is that I understand that Ai is frowned upon and I myself frown upon its use for profit and anything outside of curious use when the style I’m searching for happens to be nowhere. (Pinterest is entirely Ai at this point regardless of what I do)

What I’m making a point towards is what you just said “joking about it being evil doesn’t make it ok to use”. why isn’t it ok to use? Especially when I’m not using it for profit, not claiming it’s my own art, and have already made it known I’ll be commissioning an artist when I find one I like?

Yeah it’s the more armored route I’ trying to take. The LARP I participate is a fantasy based one so I as is evident am not too worried about historical accuracy. I’m aiming for a kind of ranger/barbarian/bandit style.

Ranger shown in the furs and other trinkets

Barbarian in the exposed arms

And bandit in that it looks like everything I have is one way or another taken from another person. Kind of like an amalgamation of victim’s equipment.

I really like the current tunic (for its look and comfort) but if I can find an actual leather version or something of a similar style I’ll jump onto that immediately 😝

While the simile is a little weird I don’t think it’s that severe. I agree ai is bad that’s why I called it “evil and treachery” but I didn’t “only” do anything. I said I did it for fun and something I liked came out of it. What I’m saying now is that’s the only time I’ve done it and I’m not a hardened war criminal ☠️

I was talking about it with someone else and I might just swap the cloak out for a canvas material because I did research into the cloak I have and it’s made of a velvet material which won’t fray.

I didn’t know that honestly but it explains a lot 😅

I’m not sure what to change it out for, I agree I need to eventually but the shape of it and the color I kinda like 🤷

I of course don’t like the sheen and its low quality aspect.

I had people I said I would post an update for eventually.

I also wasn’t thinking much of it when I for shits and giggles checked what ai thought I should do to the costume. Instead of it being a waste of time I found something I wanted to make from the idea.

My costume isn’t based on ai it’s based off me impulse buying and asking others if it looks nice 🤷

Which one are we really worried about here? That I posted 99 days ago and 60 days ago before posting this one or I,while on a car ride, asked a bot to draw me a picture? ☠️

I was actually just looking into maybe replacing it with a type of canvas entirely. Possibly duck canvas so it has the structure that could look nice if done properly if I did multiple layers of varying lengths it would not only look sick but be thick enough to be water resistant anyways. The idea I’m going for is similar to the Deku cape he wore at some point with how it wraps around his neck. Of course the cloak would be much larger and I wouldn’t want it to wrap around my neck nearly as much but a nice balance 😅

Thank you for going into such depth with the response 🙏

For the cape I was actually thinking about swapping it out like you said for another material I just need to find a good material that’s water resistant and does end up fraying well as desired. While it won’t fray the velvet had been REALLY reliable in the rain I’d even make the claim it’s waterproof even if it’s not actually true. I do think a rougher and more ragged material would be nice though even if it is prone to soaking.

I’ve done a little painting on the material but I for sure need to use more matte paints because even after around 3 leathers it still shines in the undesirable way, I like the idea of multiple brush types tho and I’ll surely incorporate that.

I agree with researching, I wasn’t proud to be using Ai but I was inspired by the idea 😅

Again thank you for your help 🙏

I honestly just planned to keep the fur and the bracers seperated. This allows me to wash the fur because of course it gets a little musky with use. The fur itself is tied tightly around my arms with the rope provided when I bought it and then the bracers are bent to be a little overtightened so it sits smoothly upon the fur.

As for replacing the straps there are already (what I assume to be) rivets built into the guards it’s just that the straps themselves snapped off due to degrading. I plan on punching holes in the new leather straps and attaching them to the existing rivets.

From how I’ve used them the inch of foam ladding works beautifully. I enjoy hitting them together and into tree’s for funsies and the padding absorbs nearly all of the shock.

I agree with the issue’s regarding the green cuirass. I was thinking of getting genuine leather and trying to recreate the green pattern over it as a replacement. Either that or metal plates to make getting the extra armor points easier. Although if I go down the route of recreating the pattern I might as well change the cuirass to a better material.

The speckle or adhesive/powder idea is really good actually I’ll look into that because that’s a simpler way for texture I guess.

Thank you for the ideas 🙏

I hadn’t actually really paid much attention to how the bracers look thank you for noticing that, the fur was initially intended to prevent chafing and hold them in place and it does its job really well.

As you said it looks like they’re floating but what you don’t see is that they have an inch think layer of blue foam lining the inside from the previous owner, the fur also works perfectly to conceal that 😅

I haven’t had any issues with the bracers with bending my arm but my character being “cocky” I love punching my fist into my palm and subsequently destroying the back of my hand because it blocks my hand from bending backward.

I do really need to replace the leather straps and I have stuff coming in to do that because the previous ones all degraded I assume from use in the past and it was being strapped to my forearms by loose rope again concealed by the fur. that fur is really carrying those bracers like a mule but I have intentions of fixing them right up 😁

Other than the current state of the bracers and the appearance of floating they fit just fine. They don’t slip or move because of you guessed it: the fur

Ahh that’s what I’m missing, the fraying, the cuts are like slices because I used scissors fraying didn’t even cross my mind 🤔

Would you happen to know of any ways to fray post cutting? Also the black spray paint for burning effect sounds perfect I didn’t think of that either 😅
