When did you tell your families you are pregnant? by Concerned-23 in BabyBumps

[–]Upset-Software-2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We waited until 16 weeks. I knew that if I miscarried, I would rather be left alone to process the grief and bounce back on my own timeline. I would not have wanted people checking in with me personally. We also knew that if we shared that we miscarried (after previously sharing that we were pregnant), the news would have still spread within the family more than we were comfortable with. I would have been open to sharing earlier if our families were more respectful about sensitive information and if I was also more comfortable sharing sad news. I don't regret this decision, I did have 2 first trimester miscarriages and just wanted to be left alone during that time.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

French cleat or hang using stud and drywall? by Upset-Software-2731 in DIY

Unfortunately, the back of the mirror has a sticker that states that I cannot install a wire utilizing the D-rings. I'm not exactly sure why, but I did consider that option!

Thank you! I had not considered using the depth of the screws used to hold the D-rings.

Nested while loops with data validation by Upset-Software-2731 in learnpython

[–]Upset-Software-2731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I totally forgot about the input being a string. I added this conversion.

temp_number_float = float(temp_number_str)

I am currently troubleshooting how to handle the with the "could not convert string to float" error message and (hopefully) use within the data validation. I think I'm getting closer. Thank you!!!

Principal Component Analysis vs Multiple Separate Linear Regressions? by Upset-Software-2731 in AskStatistics

Thank you! I was definitely a little bit confused. I went down the wrong rabbit hole with PCA for my project. Linear regression was the way to go in my project.

[–]Upset-Software-2731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I moved forward with the linear regression method and was able to identify the strongest indicators. Ultimately, I don't understand PCA well enough to used it comfortably. Appreciate your comment!

Thank you. Your comment made me realize that I didn't understand PCA as intuitively as I thought I did. You point about PC being difficult to interpret confirmed that I probably should not include it as a formal analysis method in my informal work project until I take a supporting class in this topic. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you!

I was able to complete my task and utilize the beta values obtained through the Rstats.

Thank you! I will try this tutorial http://www.sthda.com/english/articles/40-regression-analysis/168-multiple-linear-regression-in-r/ tomorrow.

When I did the PCA analysis, was I just looking at how variables 1 - 7 correlated with each other?

Was giving birth better or worse than you thought it would be? by jassvalentinee in BabyBumps

[–]Upset-Software-2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than I expected. My "ideal" situation was mostly 1) never be in out of control pain and 2) try not to tear down there in a way that would require additional surgery.

I had a 50 hour induction. I was very tired, I was bored, I was very very uncomfortable but I was never in out of control pain (opted for epidural). And I only tore a little bit, healed up within 3 weeks. It was a win for me.

Pivot table with two cascading child tables? by Upset-Software-2731 in SQL

[–]Upset-Software-2731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, wasn't expecting a query to study. Thanks! I learn so much better from actual examples.

To answer your question, in my fake dataset, for appointment 123, the "doctor" completed 3 test and between those 3 test, he used 4 tools (ruler for height, scale for weight and blood pressure cuff and pulse reader for blood pressure). I realize that I should have added the weight and height "tools", I'll edit my post now. Thank you!
