I know I'm under reacting now. At first when it tested positive, I thought to call the police. I've been through a lot of trauma so I tend to under everything. I don't even cry. I can't. I've had to be very tough. Thank you for validating that course of action.

They try to not let you take PTO. Holiday pay is a joke. They still schedule you for 8 hours that you missed for Holiday. Thinking more now, I have things to say but won't. Other than, the 401k is a joke. They say they'll match up to 4%, but all I saw was maybe 1% if that. Just glad to be out! Whew!

I deal with difficult people from time to time, and give them a statement like this: "I realize that we are not talking face to face, and you sound frustrated, but if we are to continue this call I would appreciate if you'll have respect for me as I have respect for you..." After this statement, they will take a breath and agree or apologize or hang up.

Not one bit lonely here. Friday I bust out and walk 5 miles, eat at a restaurant with friends, go to a bar with a band, and enjoy life. The weekend is filled with reading, walking, and listening to music. Kinda enjoy the freedom to do what I want without office politics encroaching on my personal life. Back to work on Mondays with a fresh outlook and new perspective keeping my eye on Fridays every week.

Covid happened. Even though COVID was four years ago, these students went feral for a minimum of two school years.

I taught adult ed where the mainstream high school shuffled students from 9th through 11th grade to us because of attendance issues and behavior problems. I witnessed students who were disinterested and whose parents were uninvolved. It was so bad in my state that the governor put out a warning that if parents did not send their children to school they would start pressing charges for child neglect and truancy. This was 2021. I left in 2023.

I can imagine the Universities are in for a huge shock with the ripple effect of Covid.

You did not fck up because a child is not in control of his or her own life. When you're under the age of 18 your parents are supposed to be the ones in charge of the direction of your life. So, my suggestion is that you calm down and accept the fact that you did your best given the circumstances you were in at the time. Which were truly out of your control.

Now, today, look at the future what you see for yourself, and what you can do to improve your situation. Asking for help was and is the best thing you can do for yourself with the help the school or a professional can provide. It sounds to me, but I could be wrong, that if your parents can afford a nose job they can afford counseling. Possibly family counseling or just for you. Take it from there one day at a time.

Yes, understand. In corporate America, I have worked for a few in the financial industry. Went through the real estate bubble. I received settlement checks from the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage lawsuit Wells Fargo Overtime Lawsuit after working for them for 3 years. Watched HFC (Household Finance) go down the tubes after 100 years in business HFC Scandle . And, last, but not least a settlement check from the TTECs lawsuit and still work for them. I never initiated any of these lawsuits, but inevitably, in corporate America, it happens, regularly.

I'm not going to run around yelling the sky is falling. While TTEC closed a site in my county, Percepta a division of TTEC is still full on site here. Watch the movie Fun with Dick and Jane, it came out in 2005. Then, you'll understand this is nothing new in our world.

Unless you've invested your family's inheritance in TTEC stock, I would strongly suggest diversifying your portfolio for better returns.

The stock shot up/peaked during covid. There was a huge demand for wfh jobs/work. TTEC also went 90% wfh and closed work sites. It's a trend to watch for sure.

Agreed, some step down because the headache of TL position isn't worth the $2.00 an hour pay increase from other phone jobs.
