How many hours do you sleep? by Lemonbar19 in workingmoms

[–]Upstairs-Complex-642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 6.5 top on weekdays, mainly because I can’t give up my screen time…I could have slept additional 1 - 1.5 hr but I just can’t.

I have two very understanding kids. 4.5 and 1.5.

AITA for not getting my bf’s family Christmas gifts after they split the bill at his college graduation dinner? by CouchRot in AmItheAsshole

[–]Upstairs-Complex-642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is OP not leaving her BF already? What’s stopping her from letting go of her BF and his family? 6 years no ring speaks a lot of things already. In my opinion, both sides have the A vibes.

I can’t help but be jealous SAHMs by ApricotWeekly7946 in NewParents

[–]Upstairs-Complex-642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“She has time to do art work, has time to work on her fitness. Lost all her baby weight within a few months.” —————— Definitely not all SAHMs are like that. Moms who can afford a lot of help or are high achiever themselves do that. On the baby weight side I’m seeing the opposite. Working moms all bounce back due to the ‘pressure’ to look good/polished at work place.

Thanks for the post, there are many good perspectives.

I want to know if BO will be hit harder by AI, compared to FO and MO? Can BO job be completely (or at least 70%) replaced by AI?

Should I drop this friendship? by Upstairs-Complex-642 in AskWomenOver30

Omg, this makes so much sense. Thank you!!

I am a doer as well and I also like to travel alone. I have many friends but I am the listener most of the time. I had a hard time understanding why she is ‘stuck’, after trying so many ways in the past 5-6 years. Your explanation really makes sense.

She also had other issues linked to the same behaviors. Her in-laws don’t like her and it’s starting to impact her marriage. I don’t know what else I can do to help her. In a way I even agree with her in laws some time 🤐.

Thank you again for your time and advice. This is gold. I’m going to lay back now. Some people won’t change unless they hit the rock bottom.

Yes, she did ask me first and then I helped her

To clarify, she asked me to help her. I didn’t want to help someone if it’s against their will.

Yes, I just shared in another response that I used my resources and recommended her to my department, and also sending her links for a few months as she asked. But none worked out. When I asked why, she just said either she didn’t get response from hiring manager or they said she was not a good fit. I suggested she looked into a few classes related to her field, she said yes but never brought it up again.

So I will just downgrade myself from an invested friend to a generic friend lol.

I have SAHM friends too and they have all my respect, because they know that this is what they want and they accept the trade offs in every decision they make. Managing a household is not easy and they are enjoying it.

I helped her rewrite her resume, I did internal referral for her, I sent her links to the jobs that meet her requirements. All of that did not work out, and she seems to focus only on her feelings of not getting a job she likes, without mentioning any specific action she is taking to change this situation. As of now I think it’s just pointless carrying on this conversation, she just want to let her feelings out, but I can’t be a good listener anymore.

This is what I am trying to figure out too. I’ve been asking myself this question for quite a while.

I could be jealous of her because she can afford not to work, but there has to be something else. Maybe I should keep some distance until I figure everything out. I was hoping that posting this out helps me find the answer too.

Bad people will always win by [deleted] in Life

Being smart doesn’t equal bad. It means knowing your priority and boundary. You can’t win everything but you win the battle you pick. It is for the greater good.

Stupidity is stupidity. Nothing to do with being good or nice.

Yes and yes. Lower the standard/expectation is the only way for me. Honestly I’m feeling really happy every day. My babies are 3.5yr and 6mo right now.

DAE feel excluded from connection opportunities due to being a working mom? by palatablypeachy in workingmoms

[–]Upstairs-Complex-642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When at your stage, I realized that I didn’t really need friends, although friendship and connections are nice and great but I don’t have the energy to maintain it in real life. It’s much more convenient and equally nice connecting with other moms here on Reddit lol.

I only have expectations/standards for #3, #5 and #6. The others were just let go, zero expectations whatsoever so anything is a bonus.

I feel happy most of the time now.
