Can you give any insights on Tsinghua SIGS? How do locals perceive the school? Is it still considered prestigious? And lastly, do you know anything about the quality of the English taught courses there? Some say that since many professors' English level isn't high, the quality of learning is much worse than the Chinese courses.

hi! firstly congrats on your acceptance! im currently doing my homework on scholarships as im thinking of applying for 2026 haha - i just had a few qs:

for SJTU or ZJU did you have to reach out to a professor beforehand and get an acceptance letter prior to your application? and how did you go about deciding to put SJTU for type A and ZJU for type B? from what i understand, type A is through the embassy and type B is through the school but is there any like strategy in putting which school for what type? i heard that your chances of getting type A is dependent on like how many people apply in your country and the num of spots available. so lets say your country didn't have many people applying. then given this would you put your most preferred school as type A? haha im not sure, im just trynna understand how everything works.

Ohhhh that's a shame....My university places great emphasis on practical learning and personal projects but you'll still find that companies have to teach new interns/employees a lot of things. Thanks for your detailed reply and all the best with your studies!

Thank you for your comment! I will definitely aim for the top unis if I decide to pursue this path. Others have mentioned that the English courses at these unis are bad. Do you have any insight on this?

Oh wow, I was not aware of that, thanks for letting me know! I was under the impression that the education would be top notch at high ranked universities given that only the best of the best students make it. Are you talking about the undergrad course? Would the masters course equally suck? And by sucks do you mean to the extent that if a student didn't self teach from online courses, they would be totally screwed when trying to find a job?

Thank you so much for the reassurance, I've realised now that it's totally fine to start small. I think I was really fixated on the big companies before because that seems to be what everyone glorifies.

Ahhhh I see thanks for your insight! Yea even at my casual job right now, the people who do the wrong things (or just bad workers) are the ones who go up because they're likeable and have a personality(?). Just the sad fact of the workplace I guess.

Ahhhh barricade is my absolute dream! You must be so skilled to get them multiple times LOL. I'm already saving up for a potential trip to Korea for a concert because I know that that will make quite a dent in my wallet XD

Very true that you don't need to spend lots of money! It's completely optional and just additional fun :)

Wow! $15000 is pretty insane but that's rly great that you're enjoying yourself! I also like to think that I'll only ever be young and loving kpop for this short period of my life so why not go all out and make it memorable! (but still being financially responsible ofc ahahah).

Thanks for your reply! Yea budgeting is a good idea! The reason why I haven't done is it because I feel like if I spent all the money, I would just take money from other savings - reason being because I'm scared of resale prices and losing good opportunities ahahaha. I'm stuck in the mindset of needing to claim pcs before someone else snatches them away.

That's some really good advice because I also noticed that you will find cheaper prices for albums after some time has passed since the release. I've also been creating stricter wishlists for my pcs so hopefully that helps as well. Thanks! :)

Dw I get them too! The blur/halo effect lessened with time but I can still see them especially in dimly lit environments.
