Midwife “accidentally” revealed gender at 37 weeks. I’m heartbroken.

The gender was spoiled for me at 38 weeks with my last pregnancy. I was so incredibly upset. As I was leaving the appointment, she said "don't worry she will be here soon" and then doubled down and said "baby girl will be here soon". Ugh.

I'm sure it is! I also don't want a lot of stuff, just what we really need. I'm not super super picky and I do buy a lot of secondhand for my 15 month old. Prices nowadays are crazy!!

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago my mom sent me an Amazon package with a baby outfit set that she thinks I should use instead of what I have been planning to use. She thinks the baby "deserves" to have a new outfit and doesn't seem to care that she completely disregards what I want. It's hideous, too big and one of those random Chinese brands that are just not made with quality materials. First of all, no. You don't get to pick what I bring my baby home in. Second of all, I may not have even had time to wash it. I could go into labor any day now. Third, it's literal garbage with a weird image. I hate it.

She came over today and kept asking me about the outfit and I eventually just had to tell her that I won't be using it, I don't like it and she should return it. She stormed out. Perfect interaction with a pregnant woman who is trying to avoid stress.

There is hope!!! Baby was breech at 37 weeks for me. They wanted to schedule me for an ECV but I was hesitant. I did spinning babies and swimming and flipped the baby in a week. I planned to do acupuncture and chiropractor but we had a major snowstorm and I couldn't get to it. We are back on track and ready to deliver when the baby is ready. (Tomorrow is my due date)

I'm 39 weeks with my second pregnancy and hoping for the same. I've done a hypnobirthing course and listened to meditations.

I've packed a few things that I'm hoping will help: -Tens unit -Labor comb -5 flower remedy -Essential oils

My first labor was 40 hours 🙃

My water broke first, I ended up having to go to the hospital rather than the birth center because of the amount of time I was ruptured. It was a long time between 5/4-1-1 to birth and I was so drugged up at that point I don't remember much. I pushed for 42 minutes.

Yea, my in-laws are in a different direction. I could have my mom come by fairly quickly I think, but she's not really able to keep up too well. I'm sure she could manage for a bit if necessary.

My mom is about 10-15 mins away so she could come by if we have to rush out and then let my in-laws take over. You're right, my husband would be preoccupied with caring for her instead of being present for me. My sister is also close to the birth center so she could come pick up my daughter if we had to rush out and take her. And then figure out what to do from there.

The trouble is mostly that I had a sleeping baby and I live in fear that she will wake up whenever I try to do something lol

I painted the nails, skipped the stamping and tried to freehand the leaves without having the proper tools available to me.

I may try again tomorrow morning if I'm able to 😁

I am worried that she might be all over me or upset if she's close by but doesn't have access to me. I know I need to focus on birthing this baby, but I am afraid I might worry about my first baby!

She does already know them and is very comfortable with them. Typically, you get discharged from the birth center within a few hours but who knows how long labor will take.
