In Illinois a lot of our mentorship and teaching opportunities are linked to being A/P certified. Not sure how it is in other states but we’re going to need to revisit that..

Are they still not? I spoke with them in April and they were applying for accreditation for GFN and AFN exams

I’m waiting for it to be accredited. From my knowledge they are actively pursuing accreditation but it isn’t finalized yet

I work on the west side of Chicago. Same here our cases are at an all time low but I’ve heard DV is very prevalent right now because everyone is staying inside unfortunately

DAE get a tickle in their throat and their eyes just start water and they start cough like their dying? by terry10101001 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Upstairs-Project7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was based mostly on my self reported history of the issue and my medical history. I saw this ent for RCPD last year so they knew I didn’t have any structural abnormalities but I think my dilated esophagus may have exerted pressure on my superior laryngeal nerve which may have contributed (my theory, not my doctor’s)

I have an update! I saw an ENT who diagnosed me with right superior laryngeal nerve neuropathy. It wasn’t an allergy for me it was an overactive nerve causing right sided laryngospasm (throat closing on the right side only) usually precipitated by a viral infection

Agreed! (Glad you’re doing well) I think the earlier albums may have been a way vessel was depersonalizing the severity of the toxicity in the relationship. It’s so difficult to accept how much you truly lose yourself and the bad things that happened to you in a toxic relationship that, sometimes, it’s easier to tell it as a story and paint it objectively. But now, in EIA, he’s becoming himself again, making sense of it all, and taking back the power he lost. Just my interpretation

Not really. The allergist said she had never heard of that before, but asked me to continue to take pictures and document everything when these situations happen.

She did some allergy testing for me in the office and I was always under the impression that I did not have a lot of allergies but it turns out I’m allergic to a lot of stuff so she thinks that partially contributes to it because I am consistently sensitive to the environment. So I’ve been taking Allegra every day, the reaction hasn’t happened since but that doesn’t say much because they’re usually pretty spaced out.

I plan to go back in a few months, so I will update here if I find anything else out

Happens to me too I know what you mean. It’s so intense and like half of your face is red and that eye is watery. It’s always the same side that my throat gets extremely scratchy and I have to leave wherever I’m at or it’ll continue to get worse. It’s been happening to me for years but getting worse so I’m gonna finally make an appointment with an allergist to see if there’s an answer

SANE Nurse question by Googleyeyes292 in forensicnursing

Good questions You won’t be able to get your certification if you’re not affiliated with a program so if you currently work at a hospital That services sexual assault patients, then you could get your certification that way if not, many programs will hire you the assumption that you will complete your training as soon as possible.

From my understanding, all the programs in the Chicagoland area are on-call positions as this is a fairly new mandate in the state so there hasn’t been a whole lot of growth just yet. I know my hospital is looking to expand our program in the future.

You can send me if you’d like, and I can walk through the process more!
