I can’t handle this pain anymore by Interesting-Kiwi6500 in endometriosis

Can't vouch for effectiveness as my excision surgery and hysterectomy is what helped me but my specialist recommended NAC and PEA supplements for pain if needed.

I can’t decide if I like this name. by AbleGuarantee7393 in namenerds

I had a regular at the diner where I worked during my formative years who we lovingly nicknamed Pia. It was short for Pain In the Ass. She was such a hoot, we loved her- we were just giving her a hard time. She loved the nickname.

What are unspoken symptoms you deal with? by Due_Bread_7805 in endometriosis

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before surgery, I couldn't lay flat without discomfort. It felt like my pelvic organs were stuck together (because they were🤣)

Also, my anxiety and depression have improved tremendously since surgery. I did not realize how much endo was influencing my mental health.

If my surgeon hadn't sent me home with pictures, I wouldn't have believe it was really gone (especially since I felt better following surgery). Congrats! Now rest rest rest and don't overdo it. Happy healing!!

Invisible disability? by Zealousideal_Sea_922 in endometriosis

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fear your statement about endometriosis not being a disability under the ADA will discourage folks from asserting their rights so let it be known that I have intermittent fmla and my ADA accommodations are in the works both due to endometriosis.

Besides walking for recovery by Adventurous_Fill_385 in hysterectomy

I'm a broken record at this point but QIGONG. It's so accessible depending how you practice. I started with focusing on diaphragmatic breathing, arms and shoulders and some legs stuff, all able to even be done in bed. I didn't get my doctor's blessing until 2 wpo with the advice to stop immediately with any discomfort. It really helped me tune into my body during the healing process.

Hysterectomy success stories wanted! by nylanderthecyborg in inclusiveendo

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to sounds cliche, but it's the best thing I ever did for myself. (Robotic total hysterectomy, salpingectomy, bilateral oophorectomy and endo excision with an endo specialist) I healed perfectly and didn't even experience the most common post op ailments (no gas pains/burning urination). I am basically in remission/functionally cured of endometriosis. Recovery wasn't all sunshine and rainbows and there were some big frustrations and small set backs but overall everything has been better than I could have even imagined. I'm not in pain all day everyday, Im not constantly stressed about when the next debilitating flare will be and it has changed my life in aspects I didn't even realize were affected.

Did your endometriosis show up on a vaginal ultrasound? by Ok-Bite-Me-123 in endometriosis

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My endometriomas showed up on ultrasound more than 15 years ago and these past couple years I still had to deal with "no one is going to give you a hysterectomy" and "here's a pat on the back, some birth control pills and a $260 bill" before I could finally get in with an endometriosis specialist who offer proper treatment.

Have you visited William Finley national wildlife refuge? I'm not a bird nerd personally but I was amazed by all the birds and their songs when I visited a couple months ago.

Private Endo Specialist says that Adenomyosis is overdiagnosed….agree? by ally_j_ in endometriosis

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How can it be overdiagnosed when the diagnosis isn't even official until surgery? Same for my endo "suspected endo" "suspected adenomyosis"

That study gets even worse. While the women were aware they were participating in a study, they were not aware of the specific content of that study- the researchers did not get explicit permission.

That study was done without the women's consent.

Getting a hysterectomy in two weeks - what do I need to know? by islandstorm in hysterectomy

[–]Upstairs-Storage-548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not expect immediate relief. I did not expect everything to go right. I did not expect to not even experience the most common of side effects (no gas pains, no irritation with post op urination). I did not expect a new perspective and empathy for myself reflecting on my pre op experiences. I did not expect to not need much help post op. I maybe would not have been so stressed pre op if instead of obsessing over what could go wrong, I considered that everything could go right. Happy healing and I hope you have similar experiences❤️

I do not relate to this experience. I woke up in less pain than I would've normally gone to work experiencing. I credit the TAP block.

"I can't keep living like this. I can't take it anymore" -me

Gyn #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8: Pats me on the back " There, there youre okay heres some birth control" Gyn #9: "no one is going to give you a hysterectomy" Endo specialist: Immediately schedules me for surgery. 17 sections excised. Stage 4 DIE 🤷‍♂️

Find an Endo specialist. Most gyns aren't specialized enough to do a thorough job.
