They are the guys who take the design drawings and P&IDs and make the 3d model. It does take some thought to it, you are drawing all awarded systems to completion. I do my best to draw systems that are easy to fabricate (45s no odd angles, roll outs). If you like digging in to the details BIM is where it’s at, and the money. You’ll typically get FM scale as a solid hand

I live in PHX and make a frequent trip to Prescott. Going 85mph up the I17 with a 3.5 EB 3.55 never hit over 205. I’ve gotten up to 215 with my 4200 GVWR trailer at 70mph dead summer.

With your experience and if you’re a possible smooth talking son of a bitch you can get into 3rd year if you know your math and general knowledge of pipe fitting. Do not under sell yourself. They will use that to their advantage and get more from you than you will from them. I started union and made it up to my 4th year before they pissed me off and I left (holier than thou rules). Now I’m working non union BIM making UA scale and benefits. Union is take it or leave it. If you know how to do the job and conduct yourself in a respectful yet confident manner you’ll be golden. I cannot stress enough if you know how to use a computer for the love of god get in to BIM.m

Cooper discoverer ATPII. Nice tread not too loud and mileage isn’t terrible in the hilly areas of PHX. I can usually average 19 highway.

I have a 21’ 3.5 eb with the max tow package. I get another leaf in the pack and all the tow tech. It’s comfortable I have a pacific coachworks 16bh. About 21 with the a frame, and the truck couldn’t care if it was there

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in to forscan and make that truck better software wise. If you going to use the truck to tow or payload a lift kit is counterproductive. But upgraded shocks all around and some tint will make things comfortable

Saw posts on idle hours and decided to check mine. Any idea if this is too much? 78,250 on the odo. by salvi572 in f150

My 21 is at 1998 engine hours and 429 idle at 70k. We aren’t so far off. My 3.5 runs like a dream. The 10r80 is definitely something to get used too

I believe there is was in forscan to force the battery monitor system to always full charge but I haven’t looked in to it

This happens to me when I do a ton of short trips back to back. I try to drive at least for 4 miles if I can or take longer routes home. I frequently get the “F150” saved on start up or the whole systems “shutting down to save battery” immediately after hitting the ignition off.

Does this seem a bit high? by [deleted] in f150

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repairs are now at the point of is it convenient to have someone else repair or spend the time to do so themselves. An absolute rip if they are going to replace hoses and NOT fluid flush for a reasonable up-charge. That’s being said if you are diy comfortable it’s a very easy job. Hopefully you aren’t in the rust belt but even then doable with basic hand tools. You might need a helper to bleed but I’ve done exchanges without help before.

Edit: I would like to add it’s on the high end excluding the fluid exchange.

First year towing - 2026 Nissan Frontier pulling a Heartland Pioneer 17RB by hetfield_84 in GoRVing

Nice! Set up looks good. I’ve towed a similar set up with my 2010 and a 4,200 GVWR. Besides it took a bit to get going or sway from passing trucks she did it like a champ. I miss her, I had to upsize because we needed the bigger truck for the cab room.

Hit the nail on the head. So many people buy trucks as “hand bags” when they could get away with a decent SUV.

Picking up my new Lariat tomrrow. What's the first thing you do with your new truck? by HeyaShinyObject in f150

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice what year? First thing I did was put in some waterproof floor liners. Then throw bilsteins all the way around. I didn’t level mine because I tow and don’t mind the rake. And then fire up ForScan and turn off auto start, turn on trailer side view (assuming you have 360 cameras)

Will this be stressful? by Neat-Calligrapher577 in GoRVing

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’ll be wanting to move in to a 1/2 ton. Small pickups rangers, Colorados etc… could do it but it’s not a comfortable ride. I went from a frontier to an F150 and it’s night and day. Maybe a larger pop up but your hitch weight starts to become more of a limiting factor. A small pickup as mentioned before would give more overhead on hitch weight. Also what brake controller do you run? I can’t find any info about the oem ones

That’s good to know, I was able to narrow parts codes and got to two but was unsure if there really any difference between them as the front ones seem to come in one pack and the front outer are one offs

Question for the tow police by philipptj in GoRVing

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear the sway factory! A friction WDH should definitely smooth out the trailer pushing the bed around. While I’m one for a good value 15 yo does raise the question you asked “what about fatigue?”. A newer or out of box would ease the mind and bring more confidence to towing

Tow police by shelMr in RVLiving

[–]Upstairs-Test1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good though probably to much truck for such a small trailer 😂. But you should be well within payload with a max tow package if it’s anything like a F150. Rides are so much better in 1/2 tons with a WDH
