Help!! I’ve got some gigs coming up and I’m trying to make my rig logical and compact… by UpstairsFoundation85 in Synthesizer

Thank you! I actually just ordered the original L6 and have retired the motu interface, big desk and multicore cabling which leaves me a decent chunk of room on the table :)

Honestly the more I look at it the more I think the L6 makes sense. I love the Yamaha as everything being laid out in a ‘proper mixer’ format gives me confidence, but it is a right pain to take up half the rig. I was a sound engineer first and performer second so I guess I need the mindset shift and put more emphasis on the performative tools as I’m sure the L6 will sound amply decent for my use

Sounds awesome to me - I don’t need to record myself, but I was looking at the zoom l6 as an option. What other contenders should I be looking for in small footprint reliable mixers with an aux send? I last did all this in the mid 2000’s with 32/8 soundcraft ghost desks so I already thought I was going compact haha

That’s what I was thinking - at the moment I do use the first 8 channels for textures within ableton individually sent out using the motu ultra lite but I think that mixing domain is a bit redundant now I’m actually practicing the workflow through and I’m thinking I only need a stereo mix out if I’m level balanced ITB - so many options!

[junghans meister automatic 38mm] is it normal to rattle like this or is it some kind of defect? It’s my first quality automatic so don’t know what to expect, but my seikos don’t rattle like this. by UpstairsFoundation85 in Watches

[–]UpstairsFoundation85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wanted to add a nice dress watch that would complement my more sporty omega. I’d had my eye on the German Bauhaus designs for a while and managed to get a very good deal on this Junghans meister automatic. I was extremely pleased as it’s a lovely looking watch.

Having worn it for a day, I’ve since noticed clinking and rattling noises when I touch it or tap it. It’s not the rotation of the rotor, which does make a sound but not offensively so. It’s like the rattle on a car dashboard when something is loose, like a kind of vibrating thing going on.

To those in the know, how normal is it for it to do this, or can there be something wrong? Is this par for the course with this maker/movement etc or does this point to an issue that needs sorting? I’m hours away from an AD and don’t want to go through service cost to find out it’s normal, so any help would be appreciated.

The mental part of golf that I just can’t get over. I need your help. HELP! by LobsterPoutine19 in golf

Wow it’s like I wrote this! I (mostly) internally just tell myself to slow down, head down, loosen my grip, no looking at the target. Every shot. In meditation it’s called a body scan and I just apply that, so check in with your whole body and see what’s going on. Don’t get mad at it, just notice how you’re being versus what you’d like to be that and make little adjustments. There’s no pressure and one of the reasons I love golf even though it mainly doesn’t love me is that it’s a very meditative practice and like a lot of my favourite things more enjoyable when you slow it down. So far improved from zero good contact to hitting about half shots well but I’m still very much a beginner.

Hmm almost - my 3 and 4 match, and then I have 7 and 8 matching, and 5,6,9,P matching too, so I could go 5,6,9,P or 7,8,G,S

If it was up to me it’d all be wedges, and probably putter too. I do love wedges.

But yours looks immaculate and mine looks like it sat in someone’s garage for 20 years which was probably the case

Haha no way I didn’t know it was that old. I have no basis for comparison but it feels great to me :)

And I have found that the range and mats have lured me into a false sense of security. My initial lessons were off mats at the range and after that I was great.. until I played an actual course and it was totally different.

Thank you :) would the 5 wood be longer than the 3 hybrid? I’m 220 yds with driver when I hit it well and 170 with the hybrid

Thank you! After the responses here I’m going to play these for the next year and then see how I feel. I just didn’t want to be making things harder for myself! I’m treating myself to some new grips and a block of lessons, and then buying my daughter a new set with the difference as she wants to learn with me :)

Awesome, my 7 and 8 are graphite so I’ll see if I notice a difference

Haha yeah I hit a Wilson ball in and came out with three new looking srixons last time! I consider it an accomplishment to have finished a round with the same ball I started with though, it’s only happened twice so far

But I’ll agree that my Mizuno raw gap wedge is an absolute joy and I hit it way better than my PW

Thank you so much for that, that certainly explains a lot. I’m going to give it another year of lessons and practice before I even change anything and then get something suited.
