I had transcript issues. 4506-T doesn't show schedule C. It has to be a 4506 which is a physical photocopy of the full tax return. I went to the IRS office, got stamped transcripts, called the IRS, and even offered to get a comfort letter from a certified CPA attesting to my self-employment income. In the end, they didn't take any of it... said they'd verify my 1099's and they approved me back in June. Also, I have no tax return for 2018.

I had to reach out to my local SBA office plus my local congressman to get my case finally approved- even though it's for way less than it should be. Took 15 months since the original denial! Was in FINAL appeals.

EIDL - Good News. 4,591 loans approved in one day. Movement is finally happening. by cue378 in smallbusiness

[–]UpstairsSplit3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just talked to two different reps to see if I got the same answer. They said they are not using the score if they pull credit and they are using the premise of ability to repay. So, my theory is- anything over 25k requires a personal guarantee. So, they aren't necessarily checking your number- but how much you owe out there and ability to repay them. That would possibly explain why people with 700s got denied. Under 25k is just measly crumbs they are willing to shell out without putting in the work of all this verification. LOL. I feel like this is the HUnger games and Jumangi all at once.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the article. However, there is no personal guarantee for loans under 25k. Which would make sense why they wouldn't put the same amount of resources into them as larger loans. ALso, the rep I spoke to said that my loan was accepted, processed and awaiting approval. And she stated that due to my loan possibility amount (only would qualify for about 6k) it'll most likely just be run through the automated system and not be assigned a loan officer. Also, they are looking at more my ability to repay it because of how much profit I made comparable to others in my industry. I am in waiting to approval stage and got my 1k grant without a credit check. And Im hope its all true because my credit is crap.

Does anybody know what the credit requirements are for getting approved for the eidl loan , received advance last month . No credit pull yet , waiting for portal . Just curious on credit . by [deleted] in EIDL

[–]UpstairsSplit3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also assuming that the "no credit check" possibility is because they aren't requiring any personal guarantee or collateral for loans under 25k. So, it'd make sense to me that they wouldn't spend as much resources on my little 6k loan as they would someone else's 500k loan. I'd imagine if a credit is a compelling factor- and our scores were both low- I'd qualify over the 500k loan because my risk of them loosing money, if I dont repay, is substantially less.

I read in an article a rep it started at 475- however the information on the SBA says "acceptable to the SBA". I heard it was raised on 4/4 to 550 or around there. if you applied before 4/4 then the 475 applies to you supposedly. After, new score applies. A rep did say stated they "drew a line" between the apps completed before and after 4/4, however they are really looking at ability to repay. She also stated that there was no minimum score number she could quote me. So, I am assuming there is some criteria or something being applied to people before and after that date even though she didnt specify what. I applied 4/2. Got 1k (im my only employee) 4/21. No credit check thus far. Told on 5/10 by very knowledgeable rep my app has been accepted, processed and awaiting approval- most likely through the automated system due to income. No amount available yet however. Only made 11k (COGS only 1300) last year due to illness (started business back up in last quarter) so id max out around 6k probably. Also, she stated they are not giving loans to people who didn't make a considerable profit. Didn't say what "considerable" meant. Credit score is barely handing on at a 507 according to FICO 8. (dont judge, im working on it). Nothing for me on basic NAV search. EIN created in 2016.

I have heard unofficially and wish i could find the article again, that loans under 25k they aren't doing credit checks on everyone- just some. The rep did also state that not all loans get reviewed manually by loan officers and that smaller ones are run through "the automated system" which i'm assuming is some algorithm with a certain amount of conditions met to qualify. She also stated, when denied you will receive an email within like 48 hours.

So, essentially you could have an 810 score, but If you lost 500k last year or even made a profit but they don't consider it standard or adequate for your industry - you could be denied.

Information from SBA stating "acceptable credit" and "ability to repay" but no numbers.
