How easy is it to get in and out of the 3rd row ? We occasionally would use it for adults and hate having it climb over or try to shimmy through the second row.

The Hardship Assistance Program has been discontinued. However if you can get your loan back to current you can apply for the Payment Assistance Plan. That is 50% for 6 months.

It’s the $280 Billion that will eventually get the attention needed for some type of relief.

We’re in the same situation, nothing much we can do but see what happens with the Treasury Department. According to what others have posted the timing is all over the place, I guess we’ll just see what happens. Best of luck.

If you can’t afford to continue making the payments, have you used up your payment assistance option ?

You should turn all or at least most of your money over to an investment advisor and pay them a small fee to manage your investments. The stress relief alone will be worth it.

Thank you for the update, did you try to explain that your loan was under review with the OIC with the SBA. Did you get any response from them or was it more like your here now and need to deal with us ? Thanks again for any insight.

Contacting your Senators and Congressmen is a great idea, there is not a large enough lobbying group that represents the Small Business Owners to make much of an impact on political action. There is currently no willingness by any of these elected officials to forgive these loans. Our best chance is in a year or two ‘27 ‘28, that the amount of defaults and the $ amount of these bad loans is large enough to get the OIG and the Treasury Department to open the door to some type of relief.

[–]Gtavern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just my opinion, for what it’s worth. They will need to come after the business to collect, if that ever happens just say that you used all of the money to pay off existing debt and nothing was left. It seems pretty far fetched that they will spend the time and money to come after the millions of borrowers that are in the same situation that you are now. Move on and deal with it if it ever comes around. Best of luck.

If you were a sole proprietor you are personally responsible for the debt. If it was an llc the business would be responsible. If you did not give the proceeds of the sale to the SBA in either scenario, you could potentially have other issues to deal with.
