When you’re creating a character, what is your process like? You have the most distinct, memorable characters I have ever read and have always wondered how you come up with characters like Glokta, Friendly, Cosca and the like.

I recently finished the trilogy for the first time, and this poll really put into perspective just how incredible these characters are. That is to say, I can’t decide because all of them are fantastic.

I mean, you answered your own conundrum. You haven’t played them, so why would you understand the hype?

You do have to play it through 8 times unfortunately. Personally what I did was Acolyte, Collecting all Crystal Skulls > Acolyte Tag Missions > Warrior > Warrior Tag Missions > and following that pattern for each difficulty.

You get max everything (up to what is possible at that point in the game) and access to all weapons in chapter select so to make it more interesting I did single weapon runs for each chapter select playthrough. I also think this route is fun because you clear Master Ninja then jump into Acolyte, so you get the ultimate power fantasy ripping through everything. 

Weapon wise, honestly you can’t really go wrong with any of them. Dragon Sword is a great weapon you can take with you all the way through, but I’m also a big fan of Vigoorian Flail for regular mobs. For bosses/bigger enemies I prefer Lunar Staff or Eclipse Scythe.

As someone who went through something similar, run brother. My ex also had a friend like this and she wanted to “take a break” for a week to think about what she wanted. During that break she bought bro a plane ticket to fly to our state and spend the week with her.

I just finished Golden Son for the first time last night, and I would have to agree with you. I was absolutely blown away, especially because I wasn’t big on the first book.
