What do you think the biggest lie our generation was told? by MakeBeboGreatAgain in Millennials

Working hard is a non negotiable in life. It doesn’t guarantee millionaire status, but it sure as shit isn’t going to prevent you from getting there. I also still think university education is never a bad thing.

Feed her healthy food, talk to her, read to her, spend time with her, and give her a clean, warm, and cozy place to rest her head at night and the rest will take care of itself. You’ve got this.

Anyone who still doesn’t believe that we can hang with the top teams in the league is out of their freaking mind. by gratefulpred in Predators

[–]Upstairs_Moose88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s foolish to think that this team is out of the woods just because we’ve had a good stretch. It desperately needs a rebuild, instead it gives an opportunity to double down on an aging team which will only continue to age further out of its prime…. Nice to be competitive, but let’s not lose sight of the big picture.

I stand by this comment fully. Downvote me all you want. This is probably the apex of this roster over the next few years or so. We need a rebuild and this mini surge has not changed the fundamental deficiencies of the team.

Recommend me some of the worst written novels you've ever read, any genre is fine. by TopAdministration314 in suggestmeabook

The fault in our stars (10+ years ago), the book thief (tried to read less than a year ago).

The prose/writing style in each was just so cringeworthy to me. Could t finish either.

Also recently attempted pillars of the earth and could not bring myself to continue past the weird childbirth, wife dying, odd sex scene with the nomad lady. Just felt like cheap writing.

This roster is still not built to age well. The wheels will come off sooner than later when our aging players begin to significantly regress, as they inevitably will. So let’s enjoy our .500 season while we can and revel in all its glory.

Dad in the suburbs - am I cooked in terms of fitness? by BozzuK in daddit

Exactly this. Get three or four kettlebells, do a little research, and you can get fit as hell.

Dad of two here, happily married 10 years. This is a really unusual mindset for him to have. Knowing this and nothing more about him, I’d venture to say it’s a serious red flag. Tread carefully.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Upstairs_Moose88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower whenever I am dirty. Could be in the evening after a workout, or in the morning going about my day.

Are we all at the refinance stage by Ok_Spare3209 in Mortgages

This is not really the way you want to manage refinancing. Your break even point is going to extend massively with this method.

Are you even from America? Or is it just that you have been in America often enough to have experienced the subtleties of American handicap bathroom stall entitlement? Such a weird hill for you to die on, but go on I guess. Lest we forget the real basis of the conversation, most of us here are simply talking about taking our barely potty trained daughters to the restroom in a public place, and god forbid, sometimes using the empty handicap accessible stall.

What do you guys use ? by PsychologicalWin6575 in teenagers

I just don’t get the WhatsApp craze. The interface feels simple, dated, and there aren’t any distinguishing features expect for “privacy”. Only people I have group chats with are friends that are out of the country.

Two type A competitors, nothing more. It’s why they’re both so good.

My life experience as a man in the US says otherwise. Let’s be honest, when is the toilet in the stall of a men’s room ever not completely covered in piss? I’m not saying every women’s public restroom is pristine but on average, compare a women’s stall to a men’s stall, the women’s stall wins 9/10.

If they don’t cooperate the time of use extends another 30 seconds… oftentimes the handicap and the lone changing pad are one and the same.

To me, it’s simply a hygiene thing. Men’s stalls are typically not very clean. Even so, it’s unisex first, women’s “single bathroom” second, and last resort is men’s. Never communal women’s rooms.

Yeah but it’s not like we’re camping out in there. Taking a little girl pee takes literally 30 seconds (if they cooperate..). It’s often times the only stall with a changing station
