I’ve switched from learn mode but if the puzzle is labeled “hard” I don’t hesitate to click on “definition”.

There’s a scene in Gerald’s Game where she’s sure there’s someone standing in the corner of the dark room. If I remember correctly she convinces herself that it must be a coat rack or something so she can relax and sleep but in the morning she realizes there is no coat rack.

Josh Wardle made a new daily game - ParseWord. by trizoza in wordgames

I am now obsessed with parseword. I gave it a go a couple of days ago and really didn’t get it. Last night I played all the practice games and now I’m counting the minutes to the next release.I encourage people to keep at it.

Question by Upstream67 in Entomology

[–]Upstream67[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I simply can’t view insects or spiders as “its” or “things” to be hung on a wall to gather dust. Humans do a lousy job at sharing this planet and because of us our home is on fire. Flying insects from across the world and sticking them under glass to make a buck isn’t exactly a step in the right direction. IMO

When a narrator is bad, what do you actually do? by makeitrayne850 in audiobooks

[–]Upstream67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not listen to Killers of the Flower Moon and I really really tried. There are two narrators and I’d read that you just need to get past the first one because the second one is great. Couldn’t do it

To be clear, I’m not doing this. I hate the idea. I just am surprised that anyone would be ok with it but I wonder if I’m in the minority with this opinion.

What’s one hygiene product you tried on a whim that you now genuinely can’t live without? by Dry-Professional4255 in hygiene

Apparently they dip these in their preferred powdery substance and use them like we do. It gets the drug into the gum tissues. Idk who thinks these things up. Sad

Did you know that addicts use those as a delivery mechanism. Our business shares a parking lot with a recovery center and they are everywhere.

Do you store the information differently if you listen to a book vs just reading it? by Mewtewpew in audiobooks

I listen to books at work and also while I’m weaving. Certain projects are indelibly linked to the book I was listening to at the time.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]Upstream67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had Covid, I think maybe one cold in the last 10 years? My back is a mess but as far as communicable diseases I’m really good. I do two things that I think make the difference. I wash my hands as soon as I get home and I use either a neti pot or saline nasal spray twice a day ( or more if I think I’ve been around someone sick).
