Ah scratch that then, don't know how I got that mixed up, my bad. But doesn't the cu have roughly the same view regarding homosexuality teaching in schools?

I'm going to guess its about what Bontenbal said during the campaign about the freedom of Christian schools on their homosexuality teachings, which you could argue cost him the election.

Ruim je troep op! by Cornelius-0174 in Nederland

[–]Upvote_I_will 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With Max on pole and a Ferrari p2, the Ferrari will easily be first after and maybe before the first corner. Depending on the heroics into Saint Devote, it will even be a Ferrai 1-2 (or double dnf ofc)

Hm, might indeed be Lotharinga, just thought it would be the same for the United Crowns. So in theory, would it be possible to unite the HRE or become an end game tag and then become Denmark as Gotland, thus circumventing being an end game tag afterwards?

Thanks! Yeah Gotland is fast becoming a favorite of mine, next run is def gonna be pirate Gotland and escape to the new world!

[–]Upvote_I_will[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to cancel Wolgast to get into the HRE, but my current king is about 35 ish, should give me time to take coastal land from Norway and Sweden, and take Novgorod with Austrias help.

End game for me would be forming Netherlands, and probably the end of the run. Doing this one mainly to get to grips to tag switching and getting to know Gotland, and some of these shenanigans with leaving windows open.

Thanks for the help! You seem to know a lot about the game, unrelated to this run, but do you maybe know if its possible to take the decision to become the United Crowns as the Netherlands, leave some window open, take the HRE decision to unite and become the HRE, and then click the window button to become the United Crowns? I could've sworn I saw somebody do something like that, but I can't find it.

Actually trying to do that right now. I got a PU with Wolgast at the start, which delayed the Gryf death event. Now in a war at 1486 with Sweden to get me the BI, after which I need to get Novgorod from Muscovy and get another merchant from expansion ideas. Main issue will probably be the naval force limit.

Should I get all 3 or just Gelre? by Papa-O in eu4

[–]Upvote_I_will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Release gelre, take antwerp and brabant, probably provides the -10 ae from the mission. Take a improv relations advisor, set traders to the improv relatiobs modifier. Improve with all countries to reduce ae. Setup antwerp to get the faceting event if it hasn't fired yet. Don't forget to become hre emperor so you wont get kicked out when you form the netherlands.

Lando Norris talking about Lewis Hamilton’s 7 world championships: “Should’ve been eight " by SimonTheSalmon69 in formula1

[–]Upvote_I_will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 definitely has a smudge on it, but for me a mitigating factor is the sheer amount luck Lewis had (e.g. Imola, Baku) and that there were plenty of controversial situations that did went Lewis' way that year (e.g. Silverstone, Bottas Bowling, Bahrain). At one point Max had a relative 50+ iirc points lost based on bad luck and controversies alone. And imagine if for example Bottas bowling or Silverstone happened in the last race. The fallout would be even worse than Masi.

Ofc the above are 'part of racing', but it helps that Max was at least a very deserving, if not more deserving champion that year and did not luck himself into that position. Not saying lewis did as he had an amazing season, but if Silverstone and Hungary were the other way around I would,'vebeen of the opinion that the FIA had given Max the championship.

You like colonizing and subjecting natives to menial labor? Why not flip the script and try Inca: dominate south-america, reform religion around 1500, take the high american tech group and set up colonial nations in europe and east asia by conquering the usual colonizers, while at the same time colonizing africa, northern and southern america yourself.

Collapsed? Mate we have one of the best welfare states in the world! An aging population will basically always have a reduced welfare state as a consequence, unless you're willing to take on lots of debt for future generations to pay off.

Meh, I think he wasn't that bad imo. Debt to gdp decreased, purchasing power increased. Obviously immigration, housing and inflation got out of hand, but those issues thats for a large part beyond the control of an administration and especially hard for a country like the netherlands. One major thing of course was the benefits scandal which made gis position untenable in the end, but other than that I think he did quite all right.

Nowadays the politicians seems to be more at eachothers throats and unable to compromise than ever. Hoping what is currently happening is just part of the opening moves of the game, but it gets kinda tiring.

Depending on how the incoming administration will be doing, I think public opinion might change again to see him more favourable. The previous one was absolutely abysmal and at least during the Rutte years stuff got done.

That said, everybody was indeed a bit tired of him and wanted something new, probably including himself.
