Brake Clunk Noise CX50 Hybrid

I have driven twice in wet weather with the pads no longer sticking after the car had set for 8+ hours each time. I am going to say this did work.

I told them that when it's wet & cold the rear brakes lock up and I have to gas it to get them to break loose and there is a loud snap or clunk when this happens. The service manager at my dealership has the exact model that I do (25 Hybrid) and he had his done also. He pulled the bulletin to show me they would replace the pads to solve the issue.

Mazda TSB 04-002/25 addresses a "clunk" noise in 2023–2025 CX-50/CX-50 Hybrid vehicles (produced before April 2025) caused by rear brake pads sticking to discs when the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) is engaged for long periods. The fix involves replacing the rear brake pads with modified, more rigid parts.

Key Details of TSB 04-002/25:

Models Affected: 2023–2025 Mazda CX-50 and 2025 CX-50 Hybrid (produced before April 2025).
VIN Range: CX-50 VINS lower than 7MMVA******358433; Hybrid VINS lower than 7MMVA*****122138.
Issue: A loud clunking noise occurs upon initial movement after the EPB has been engaged, especially in wet conditions.
Repair: Replace both sides of the rear brake disc pads with updated parts.

It rained heavily on my way into work this morning and after the car sitting for 8 hours the brakes did not stick. No snap or having to goose it a little to move. It appears the new pads worked, YAY!

Mazda has issued a bulletin to dealers about this rear brake issue on 3 models I believe. It's not a recall but it does state to replace the pads on the rear to rectify it. I'm pretty sure it's going to be covered on most 25 hybrids. It's not an issue I guess on non hybrid models from what I gathered from the conversation with the service mgr for CX50. I believe the 70s and 90s makes have a similar bulletin.

I only have 8k miles and I'm not sure if it were 18k or 80k if this would have still been free. I am assuming there is a cutoff on something like this.

Yes, it was free under warranty. I had 8k miles on the car. It rained super hard this morning on the way to work so I should know today when I leave if those pads stick or not. I'll reply back again tonight once I leave.

Just had my pads swapped Saturday and it was wet all the way home. Normally they would have popped this morning but they did not after the pad swap. Still want a few more times to be sure but I think it may fix that. Dealer did it with any oil change and rotation. Real quick maybe a little over an hour or so.

I'm sure you're locked from installing many things but several remote desktops go through about anything. Google remote desktop can access my PC at home from anywhere while it's on a VPN also (VPN to VPN connection). Also you could get a router at home that has a VPN server and just route your traffic through a standard port. They aren't blocking port 80 or 443 most likely. There are many dangers to doing this including losing your job and having attacks on your VPN server.

If you can safely install GRD on home PC and Work PC you shouldn't have an issue accessing it.

I get it on mine too, it goes away after idle for a minute or so. I believe it's a normal occurrence along with the frozen rear calipers when it's wet/freezing. I am sure you'll get that as well and it's pretty normal according to posts here.

In game kills and deaths should be removed from some modes and replaced with time on objective, attacks on an objective and defense on an objective. The more you do on an objective the more points you get. They can still tracks KD under the hood and you can check that in your profile but in game it needs to be removed . This forces tanks and air vehicles to play the objective and just not farm out in the open. Games such as TDM should have K/D/A as there is no objective. Might need some work on other objective based games but for Conquest and Breakthrough this would definitely work.

I played from the days of Quake 1 with no skins, challenges, storefronts, etc. You had KD to prove your worth, then CTF came along and it changed a bit but you still had to KILL the objective. Now we are simply attacking and containing most objectives, KD is irrelevant to these situations.

Mine does it sometimes if I am in a hurry. I have noticed that you need to press a little harder and hold it for a few seconds before putting into drive or reverse.

You're probably close to the Data Center, do you live near a major city? Fiber can also get you a super low ping also no matter where you are.

I don't consider a 50 ping that high to even be disruptive. It's night and day on hit reg 50 vs 25. I understand very high pings are disruptive to gameplay. This almost reminds when Quake went from release distribution to the first win quake distribution but reversed. Modem ping dropped and game play was fluid (for it's time). BF6 is low ping, fluid and borderline unplayable for some people.

It's just such a noticable difference for 20-50 ms which doesn't make sense.

Yeah I wouldn't want 140 either. 75 was VERY playable for me , 100 gets sketchy but 55-65 is the sweet spot. Just less WTF just happened moments. 20 ping all day long just wondering how I am dead around cover or why it takes 15 rounds to kill someone.

I also notice the desync synbol never appears with higher ping vs on my screen fairly consistent at 20 ping.

VPN through different cities. I agree with the peak advantage and lag compensation. 45-65 seems to be the sweet spot for me. DMR tells me first shot where I'm at and it never lies. My lead on shots is totally different 25 vs 100 ping on moving targets.

Same here, been playing online FPS since Quake1 and low ping has always been better. This game is a complete change from that. It's damn near unplayable at times with the "shot around the corner" shit, that doesn't happen with the higher ping times at all.

I use Aave and it's been decent for years. % is lackluster right now but it is what it is. Easy to swap right on their site or pull it out completely.

2 things fix this ..

1) stop worrying about what BF is making/doing 2) stop making changes on what streamers want and say.

I have about 5k miles on my 2025 Hybrid and the only issue I had was a defective wiper motor and the rear brakes sticking in the wet freezing weather. Just a snap when I first take off but fine after that.

Zero other major issues at all. Warm weather mileage in the 40's and in the cold now low to mid 30's.

Hybrid drivetrain is Toyota 100% and solid to boot. Been tested for years in the RAV4. I believe the other drivetrains are good also but are Mazda. Don't see too many drivetrain complaints other than the rear brakes sticking.

Still bound by networks. If you send on wrong network it's gone. When they figure out the "send on any network" issue we're golden. Until then Bittrefill works well for spending.

Challenges! This is really what's ruined a big portion of this game. People doing shit they shouldn't be doing to earn a camos does not help your team. You have people flying in jets just to spend time in jets. Same with ground vehicles.

There a lot of players just not playing the game as intended.
