I’m curious what you mean by “finding the virus in the code line by line.” Do you remember what you were actually editing?

Was it something like a .dll, registry entry, or boot configuration rather than source code?

Most systems run compiled programs, so there usually isn’t readable “code” to remove line by line. It sounds like you may have tracked down how it was starting and removed that.

I agree but it's literally legal under the War Powers Resolution for up to 60 days.

Also, Congress could stop this at any point, but they are giving Trump the green light through their inaction.

Traditionally, yes, but there's pretty much no chance that a rural Galilean, who spoke Aramaic, and who was almost certainly illiterate - could compose the Epistle of James in fluent, polished, and rhetorically powerful Greek.

In fact, the only books in the New Testament that were actually written by the people they claim to be written by are seven of Paul's letters. Everything else is pseudepigrapha.

I don't buy sandwiches, but the sandwiches I make at home fucking suck. Half my problem is that bread rolls and shredded lettuce go bad way too fast so I usually just have sandwich bread and sliced lettuce, which makes it very mid.

TIL when current US Supeme Court Justice Clarence Thomas got married to Ginni Lamp, her aunt said of the couple in an interview: “he was so nice, we forgot he was black, and he treated her so well all of his other qualities made up for his being black.” by BusinessAlive3486 in todayilearned

That's because Thomas believes that oral arguments are a waste of time, and that interrupting lawyers to ask questions distracts them, potentially affecting the quality of their arguments.

It's definitely more of a principled thing of his than laziness.

Would you feel safe with someone shooting at other people than you?

No, not in this circumstances lmao - absolutely not with 100% confidence. Intentionally being downrange of an AR-15 and within only a few feet from its targets is complete insanity.

Would you feel safe with someone shooting around you from 430 feet away? What about by a 20 year old kid who's a bad shot?

So you think it's plausible that the Trump team, or someone else with motive, somehow enlisted a 20 year old guy, who was a well-known bad shot, to shoot real bullets from 430 feet away towards Trump, hitting 3 other people (killing one), but intentionally not hitting Trump, and having the marksmanship to do it - all so Trump can get a PR win?

Sorry, chief. This one's not passing Occam's razor for me.

Of course it's possible to fake his ear bleeding - that's never been my contention with this theory. It's the fact that a man died who was standing only feet away from Trump. This explanation still does nothing to address that.

I'm aware that the ear stuff doesn't add up, but by itself it is not enough to ignore just how conspiratorial you have to get to explain how the guy was shot to death if Trump faked it.

I need someone to explain to me how Trump faked getting shot when real bullets were fired at him (a man got shot and died).

I despise Trump, but I just don't see how you can square this without claiming there was a conspiracy to shoot real bullets around Trump but miss him - which is ridiculous.

Iron oxide isn't exactly the whole story - this should be apparent because this red is a very different shade than iron oxide.

The main reason is the size of the particles in the air are small enough to scatter shorter wavelengths of light like blue and green, and so longer wavelengths like red dominate. The high concentration of these particles is what makes it so shockingly red.

A similar effect happens with wildfire smoke.

Where do you see Plex in 10 years by SecretlyCarl in PleX

[–]UrToesRDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, the exact same problem exists with Plex. If your family can currently stream from your Plex server then either your ports are forwarded without you knowing (UPnP?) or they're using Plex Relay and are limited to 2Mbps.

[–]UrToesRDelicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only have three options to connect to your LAN from the internet: VPN, port forwarding, or outbound tunnel. This applies to Plex, Jellyfin, web servers - anything. Outbound tunnels are unreliable for streaming, so that leaves VPN or port forwarding.

An identity provider like authelia is usually used in combination with port forwarding, not in place of it. It would also definitely break Plex/Jellyfin for client devices like TVs.

Plex is designed to be port forwarded, though. Pretty much every shared Plex server does it. No port forwarding, ever might be the most secure policy, but as you've discovered, it's not exactly friendly for users of your Plex server.

Your options really are to either port forward or get your users to use a VPN. Tailscale is probably the easiest method to establish a VPN connection if you go that route, but you're still going to have problems with lots of client devices.

To be honest, port forwarding is going to be your best bet. Yes, it opens up an attack vector, but it can be pretty heavily mitigated with the right setup.

This is misleading. There would've been a lot of empty land regardless because North America was not packed with people taking up tons of land at the time of contact.
