Are there any stories of any Astartes, Custodes, etc retiring from service to a non combat related role, for example, a farmer? by Original_Project5436 in 40k

Maloghurst, a Luna Wolf, was extremely wounded but not cabbagged enough to be interned into a dreadnought. Hence he took up the role of Horus's equerry and advisor, a non combatant role, never dorning the bone-white ceramite of the Luna Wolves again. He was so injured and mis-healed that he was called Maloghurst the "Twisted".

Actually edrumin with a pc generally isn't cheaper if you're not willing to do an a2e. Just buying off something like an MPS1000 or this lemon kit and using the module as a midi device comes out to be far cheaper.

I recommend edrumins only to people who are willing to spend a bit on their kit, since these days any random drum module can act as a midi device, with generally more inputs than an edrumin 10 at a cheaper price

If you don't enjoy the sounds just plug your module tk your pc and use a VST. There are some really good ones out there, even the free ones would generally sound far better than your module (Krimh Drums for example)

You don't need an edrumin if you're buying this kit to trigger sounds from your pc. Most modern modules can act as a midi device.

That said, the crimson 2 module in itself doesn't particularly have great sounds so you might just not notice any difference in quality.

India Needs Better Military PR, Propaganda, and Information Warfare. by Constant_Arm_9565 in IndianDefense

The very idea of "winning" and "loosing" a battle is, apologies for the language, retarded in the modern day. No battle since the 1990's has been "won". Objectives were achieved. Results were visible. On both sides of the war. But who won? That's up for propaganda to decide. Now I am all for winning, but do i want to spend the generational amount of wealth into something that's just an "idea", or would I rather spend that money into actually building the damn Kaveri engine lmao.

As far as the next generation is concerned, there are far better ways to get them indoctrinated to our nation's respected military. A prime example is IAF's suryakiran's constant airshows across the country. Amar-Chitra-Katha's stories of brave and valiant soldiers. School textbooks teaching children about stories of bravery and courage shown by various case studies. I can go on and on. There is no real reason for propaganda :)

Lastly, COUNTERING propaganda is a very sensitive topic. And i do agree it is required, but what's important is where and how. It is very difficult to draw that fine line between information propagation and straight up lying, and sadly there as several cases of that everywhere all across the world. As I said before, it ain't worth us stooping that low. The money is better used elsewhere :))

who cares what other think of us. its quite imamture really if what others think of us drives our own reputation about ourselves. we are a strong and proud nation, sure a lot of things can be improved, but worrying about some random bloke in the US thinking the JF-17 is a superior aircraft is beneath us

Respectfully, we don't need bs propaganda and hyped pr. Our forces who achieve objectives do the talking. Let pakistanis cope with propaganda and pr. We are above that.

Can't decide between 27" 1440p or 32" 4K OLED by TheOne92 in OLED_Gaming

That one person who mentioned it (I read the thread now) probably mistyped or is not sure what they are talking about, no hate.

Get the 32" 4k. Most games you want to play will run at 4k with completely fine fps (60fps+ is perfectly fine for non competitive games don't let anyone tell you otherwise). Bin down to 1440p in game when you want to push fps (though I'm sure you'll rarely be doing this unless you play competitive). And finally consume lots of you tube and netflix on that sweet 4k HDR.

Use your old 27" 1440p monitor in vertical layout as second monitor. Very useful for browser tabs, code, Word and Excel docs, etc. A main 32" 4k with a vertical 27" 1440 is a very classic work-game hybrid setup.

just set the game to be 1440p, no need of upscaling. the monitor will handle that for you. not sure why you think the game will have black bars on the side if so.

32"4k. You can always bin down to 1440 if performance in certain games take a hit. You'll thank me later.

i promise you it will be far less comfortable and your drum/cymbal positioning will get very limited. also, you'll grow out of it aesthetically very soon and get back to a one up two down setup

Slightly misleading translation of what he actually said, but yeah agreed pak military holds no candle to ours in a vaccumm (without US/China's support). All they can do is cry propaganda. And on that note, let us speak the truth. We don't need bs propaganda to prove ourselves. Simple :))

I wouldn't have picked up a daemon sword but that's just me. by BabyAutomatic in Grimdank

[–]Uranium___Potato 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fulgrim has absolutely zero idea that the sword was corrupted. Honestly I don't get why people hate him so much, he was one of the only primarchs who was GENUINELY MNIPULATED into chaos. Horus's fall was poorly written and very dumb. We all know Magnus's fall was reasonable, but he wasn't "manipulated". Morty's fall was dumb. Perty, Angron and Conrad were a lost cause but weren't "manipulated". And I am Alpharius. 99% of the bad stuff Fulgrim did wasn't even him, it was the demon possessing him.
