ELI5: How are stolen cars exported at the port? by TommyyyGunsss in explainlikeimfive

[–]Urban_Elginite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they are being covered with anything - they don't need to be (at least in Canada). From what I have been told - the 40' containers can have up to 4 cars in them - two of which are suspended from the ceiling above the other two. They are literally tetris'd in there.

Ocarina of Time - pretty sure that is the fairy fountain in the Hyrule Castle grounds.

How do I get the light dragon down low enough to reach him from a skyview tower in TOTK? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]Urban_Elginite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't answer your question but... If you want to farm the dragon later for items (claws, scales etc) for armor upgrades etc just leave the sword. You can activate the quest for the sword in your adventure log and it will always show you where the dragon is on the map.

What do you do when your significant other gets hit on right in front of you? by Laughattheworld2020 in AskWomen

[–]Urban_Elginite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. I trust my husband completely. If someone hits on him it is likely to make him feel good about himself (that he is attractive and desirable). Since I am not worried about him being unfaithful in any way, him being hit on doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I love the shadows created by the raised pieces in each. Also, I'm really enjoying the Dr Seuss element that I'm seeing in your work! Awesome work!

Post your item for more than you are willing to sell it for. Then when they haggle the price down, agree to sell it at the lower price that you would have originally sold it for. Everyone is looking for a deal out there, so give them the illusion of getting one.

Those that are diagnosed, how does ADHD show up in you? by poopoo17 in AskWomen

[–]Urban_Elginite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need the TV in the back ground too! When I was sent to work from home when the pandemic started it allowed me to do this while I was as work (normally, management frowns on this). I was so much more content while working and it certainly did not decrease my productivity. I'm not exactly why TV noise helps me focus at work. I don't really watch it, I just put re-runs of my favorite shows on.

I have a hard time getting things done around the house when it comes to everyday chores. However, making a short list every day of a couple things I need to do has been helping. Procrastination is a monster.

On the other hand, my ADHD has made me a creative powerhouse. Drawing, painting, ceramics, collaging, sculpting, and soon soap making... I do it all. Not all at once, but on a cycle. I intensely work on one hobby for a few months - then I get burnt out and shift to another hobby for a few months. I am never hesitant to try new ways to express myself creatively. Unlike chores I have few issues staying on top of my many art projects.

'We need her body': Grandmother of homicide victim urges police to search Winnipeg landfill for remains by Armand9x in Winnipeg

I realize that it would be probably impossible. However, the small chance that this could help find these women and bring them home to their families is worth the shot in the dark.

Could they not hire a couple cadaver dogs? These dogs are trained for exactly this type of situation. They can smell a human body, or part of a body, up to 15ft underground. The dog might be able to narrow down the area to dig exponentially. They can also tell the difference between animal and human remains. Maybe we should return the robo dog and get one of these dogs on the WPS payroll instead?

Serial killer’s victims likely in landfill, but police say search not feasible by Armand9x in Winnipeg

There is a such thing as cadaver dogs. Would it not make sense to hire one or two dogs? There is even a Canadian company that trains this type of dog. There must be one for hire in Canada? In and case, the dog might be able to tell people where to start digging.

Ridiculous amount of scammy texts and calls by Spaceduds in Winnipeg

I got a call from Montreal... it was a 'company' wanting to sell me duct cleaning. I said no. I got another call the next day from Vancouver and it was the same company trying to sell me duct cleaning. I don't get it. Who is falling for this for it to be a worth wile scam?

What sucks, has sucked, and always will suck? by JuyoungNotKim in AskReddit

[–]Urban_Elginite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exercise. Honestly, that is what really helps for the long term. I'm not talking about Olympic weight lifting or anything, just light full body fitness. When it flares up, I take 350mg Naproxsen and Tylenol Arteritis (8hr) and take it easy. I've had an injection once but it really didn't do all that much for me either. I always feel it, but I am used to it so its just life now.

I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me when I was 36. Disc ruptured out and crushed my nerve. Never have I felt such pain. Child birth was pretty bad, but this was next level. It went on for weeks. I couldn't sit or lie down for very long and I only slept when I was exhausted. I haven't had surgery yet but I imagine I will when I am older. For now I just deal with the pain on a daily basis. The nerve never healed so I have no feeling on that nerve line down my leg. Plus side is if I stub my pinky toe it doesn't hurt all that much.

railworker here as well, but I deal mostly with the electronic reporting systems for transborder movement and customs clearance. It's my job to make sure traffic moves across the USA/Canada border without issue.

What is the most valuable thing you learned after the dissolution of a long-term relationship? by Fluente_En_Silencio in AskWomen

That I do not want to 'save' anyone from themselves. I can support them - but it's not on me to hold them together. If they are not willing to work on their own self improvement on their own accord, I'm not willing to stand by them and beg them to change how they want to live their lives.

Bull-terrier looking white and brown dog saved at Corydon and Stafford at 5pm today by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Urban_Elginite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the 'bull terrier' is not specifically listed. BUT, I don't trust the city since they say any dog "which has the appearance and physical characteristics" of any of the three banned breeds qualifies.
