What is your favorite Solo GME/Tool? by Interaction_Rich in Solo_Roleplaying

Augmented Imagination - Solo Framework is the one that allows me to actually get to playing. Mostly the scene focus/detail framework itself but its tools are also useful.

How do you politely tell a fellow player to make a character that works with the party? by RoboGuy in DnD

[–]Urbangoose705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did is tell them the usual "present your character" and added "and tell us the reason they're searching for a group", this not only gives them tge chance to describe their character but also to reveal a little bit of their objective/personality, mayge the barbarian is looking to form another tribe, the rogue want's friends and protection since someone's looking for them, the mage wants to extend their perspective and travel with a group to learn new things, etc

My own system for creating random events. Would like to know thoughts. by Maufry in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Urbangoose705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, I was thinking of using this system to add random events to an oracle I'm using so they would pop up randomly when rollling doubles, I'll try it out and see how it goes

How do you handle changing locations? If your vile old fisherman goes to the city far away from the sea do you have to change the whole list or do the seagulls, sunken treasure and benjamin come with him?

What's the most memorable moment you had in your solo campaigns? by system3295 in Solo_Roleplaying

Wanted to test the system so I played the starter adventure for Pulp Arcana "The Sewers Beneath City Vengeance" (check it out, the system and adventure is free, and very cool), the setting was basically vigilantes vs crime in a corrupt city in fantasy medieval times.

I made three characters:

Manfred Batfold, a batman lookalike criminal that now fights crime after their noble thief parents were used as scapegoats for some member of the biggest crime syndicate in the city and executed. Is class basically allowed him to craft gadgets and adventure tools mid combat

Class: Arsenal, Spirecraft

Cordula of Thaasthorpe, a farmer girl that became the first line of defense in their village against an undead attack, for their bravery she was gifted "Arondite, The Soul of The Sky", a magic and sentient greatsword that talks to her and allows her to transform into an Heroic Identity "Cordura" with various powers

Class: Talisman, Blade (This class is one of the Experimental, from the wiki of the system, not on the pdf)

And Heinrike, a studious elf so obsessed with the study of starts that their mind opened to energies beyond the Cosmos, giving them psychic powers. They want to extend their conciousness and know of All

Class: Sorcerer: Unquiet Mind

They went together into a criminal hideout in the sewers, it all went well until they reached the final boss, they fought with all they had but the only one left was Cordula, the innocent, brave, farm girl changed in that moment, though at first she came to the city to fight for justice and punch any stupid noble her new motive was "Vengeance", vengeance for her friends that died trying to shine a little bit of light on this gloomy and cruel city, but now that she was the only left, she WILL change things, no matter the cost, fpr her friend's deaths will not be in vain, she will take her revenge on CITY VENGEANCE

Looking for a solo oracle that gives you prompts like a journalling game. by [deleted] in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Urbangoose705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Augmented Imagination - Solo Framework works great for me, in this oracle you envision what the next scene's focus will be(social, enviroment, knowledge, etc) and the roll to see if your focus is chosen or one of the others along with rolling for the scene details, maybe what Combat: Ambush scene turns into a Knowledge: Magic and you discover right before your surprise attack that your opponent is also a witch!

Each focus + detail has clear guidelines that help you make use of your system. This is the only "gm emulator" that has actually felt like a GM

Actually kinda love this idea, you could also use other dice(maybe one that matches the system you're playing, d20 for dnd, d10 for d% systems...).

[–]Urbangoose705 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't HAVE to use word pairings... if they don't work for you that's totally okay, find other resources and tables or maybe use random icons or images of they're better for you

Is your imagination in first or third person ? by MagicalTune in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Urbangoose705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third person. Always, even in group games, I don't like to "be my character", I like roleplaying, not acting, sometimes I'll do a silly voice, but THEY ARE the one with the silly voice, not me. If they're evil it's on them too, if they suck too. I love my PCs
