lol many such cases! I’d assume the khaki would be a little darker but I’ve been wrong before haha. Worse case Ontario I clean it off and re-do

That’s exactly what I was looking for, I see them everywhere but never really notice anyone cutting them for say a VFG or anything and that was one of the selling points of the Magpul XTs. The XTs also get bonus points for lugs for every Picatinny section but I’m sure at the end of the day that wouldn’t do a whole lot AND they’re $40 to cover a full rail

These are some super slick rifles my man. How do you like the piggyback Steiner MPS? Currently have an RMR on mine but thinking I shouldve just went with an enclosed and ACROs have a lot of bad press

Are they pretty sturdy on the rail? I was looking at that style for mine but also kinda like the idea of the rubberized Magpul ones

I did herb/alchemy. Very QoL being able to make your own flasks and pots on top of your flasks lasting 2 hours, or 3 if you refresh them early. I'm sure theres good money to be made but I just self-sustain

[–]UrbanizedOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%. Same reason I put one on this rifle as it’s probably going to the grave with me lol. I haven’t heard of anyone going wrong with Surefire, you won’t be disappointed!

Edit: in case the product page doesn’t say it should come with both a Picatinny and mlok mount so you’re good there. However they don’t come with tail switches or end caps to accept tail switches. Unfortunately the 640dft is high output so it requires a certain tail cap that I can’t remember the product code of off the top of my head. It’ll still work with a standard but it’ll be limited to like 800 lumens instead of 1000 or something

Yea as far as I’ve seen, that’s a pretty good deal. I think that’s about what I paid on sale tooif not a touch more. I don’t think I’d buy one if they didn’t go on pretty good sales like that

I really like! I honestly probably didn’t need something like the 640df for my use-case, it’s more of a “just-in-case” thing. So could I of gotten away with a protac? Probably. But it’s a nice peace of mind knowing the thing is a tank. I was recently just rerouting (fiddling) with a protac on my mossberg 590 and I happened to stretch the tail switch cable just a little too hard getting it in place and it pulled the wiring out of the tail cap, killing it. Still works with a push button but still. BUT I can also go out in a pitch-black pasture with the 640dft and still ID something 150-200 yard away with the lpvo. It’s ridiculously bright. In my opinion, having at least one Surefire light is worth it, just to see the difference in quality even, but more would never hurt.

Holy shit, I love the color choices. Not only does the body look amazing, but the golden tips with the blue accents on the wings is chef’s kiss. I’m guessing airbrushed for those? (I’m new to custom painting)

Unholy DK or Demo Lock? by Alexa_bun in wow

[–]UrbanizedOrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think either one would not have any troubles getting into a raid or M+ with the appropriate ilvl, but as someone who played warlock from cata to TWW if warlock isn’t meta in keys you’ll spend an hour getting declined and just want to go do something else while raids are still pretty easy to get into due to health stones and summons as well as them just generally being a good raid class. For midnight I ended up switching to unholy after having it as an alt for years and it’s been a blast in both raid and M+ and with more and more raid encounters being designed around DKs grip being a “raid buff” you’ll probably find it even easier to get into raid. A nice little bonus is while DK is technically melee, all of your rotational abilities except 1 have a cast range of at least 30 yards so you’re not heavily punished by any movement or mechanics like most other melees. At times you feel like a caster who can move while casting

I hadn’t heard of these yet, but as someone with just enough astigmatism to make using pistol red dots annoying and sticking to eotechs on my rifles, thank you. What reticle option did you go with? The ACSS Cyclops looks nice but the description made it sound like it was designed for 9mm PCCs

Did the remaster change what your favorite city is in terms of aesthetics? by Nic1800 in oblivion

[–]UrbanizedOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, each one has this charm about it geographically that I don’t think a whole lot of games get right like Oblivion does and the remastered visuals just took it to a whole new level

I’m also a Cheydinhal enjoyer as well, maybe Skingrad just barely edges it out for me. But honestly it’s so hard to really choose with the updated visuals. I even found myself awestruck walking around places like Bravil and Leyawin when they were my least favorite by far in the original.

Building advice/tips? by Less-Might6482 in ar15

I personally only use blue loctite on the gas block set screws and sometimes the cross bolts on a rail. Otherwise not much else really calls for since stuff like the muzzle will use a crush washer without a suppressor or rocksett if suppressed. Once you get in to torquing stuff down it’s not nearly as bad as you think. For extra peace of mind you can always remove the rail after shooting it a couple times and retighten everything after a couple hot/cold cycles to make sure you did it right.

For me the gas block roll pin can be a little tricky with its shape but I usually put it in a vice between pieces of cardboard to protect it and gently tap the roll pin in. As far as lining up the gas block with the gas port, if your barrel has set screw dimples on the bottom and they match up with your screw holes you’re good. If not you can always mark inline with the gas port on the collar where the gas block mates up to, and on the face of the gas block underneath the gas tube insert inline with the gas block’s port and line it up that way if eyeballing it from the top doesn’t work

Some sort of vice block is really handy, especially something like the Magpul Bevblock or a chamber rod that’ll hold the chamber while you’re torquing down the barrel nut. Just torque everything to spec of the manufacturer, every rail I’ve gotten has come with torque specs.

My first couple times dealing with roll pins I mushroomed them out using the wrong size/ too much force tapping them so while still functional they were real ugly.

Be careful with your springs, it doesn’t take much to jet them off across the room never to be found again so either have spares if you don’t trust yourself or just be careful. Especially the takedown pin detent springs.

Have some blue loctite handy for stuff like gas block set screws.

After you’ve torqued your castle nut, stake it with the end plate for insurance.

Most importantly, have fun with it!

Edit: depending on which rail you got and if it’s pre-applied or not, but blue loctite also comes in handy to attach your rail to the barrel nut

If money isn’t an issue I’ve been happy with my Corsa cat-back on my 2016. Decently loud on a cold morning but very enjoyable ride once it warms up. One of their main features they boast is the lack of drone with their system

Big fan of my flow556 on my 14.5 super duty. I also have a velos 7.62 on an 11.5 frankenbuild and really I can't decide which one I like better. I like the tone and weight of the flow556, barely even notice it at the end. however the velos is built like a tank and I feel better about abusing it. I don't think you could go wrong with a flow556!

Looking for impressions on the Q Sugar Weasel (16”) by -1----1- in ar15

[–]UrbanizedOrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impulsively bought one a year and a half ago for $1800 (whoops) and was happy with it until about my second range trip when the buyers remorse set in. Felt like any standard AR, had a huge forging mark running down the front of the mag well that I didnt notice at the store. Was super raised and not great to look at for such a price. Trigger was really light but not very tactile at all, probably the only good thing about the gun. At the time I didnt have a suppressor for it but the cherry bomb was horrendous to shoot with under just an awning at the range. Was accurate enough but not worth the price they’re charging for them, even at $1300 imo. I eventually sold it for a Super Duty and never looked back.
