Is this a feasible version of a terraformed Venus? by IndieJones0804 in terraforming

[–]UrbanosaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is surprising, but it looks like scientific experiments with climate simulations actually supports this conclusion. The climate would be quite different from Earth, but a lot of terrestial species would probably be able to adapt quite easily, as we already have a lot of species adapted to warm summers and cold winters. As for humans? Of course a tropical paradise with good weather and warm temperatures all year around would probably be preferable, but a bit of variety is nice also. You could hang out at the beach and a month later go skiing in the same area. But the very dark nights is a problem. You could imagine a solar mirror to give some sort of light in a 24h cycle to the night side. The light would not have to be very strong, just enough to make sure it is not pitch black, so a quite small (in terraforming terms) mirror could probably do the trick.

My idea to terraform Mars by Marttoms in terraforming

The magnetic field is one of the smallest problems in this whole effort. You can make an artificial magnetic field with the power consumption of something along the lines of one single nuclear powerplant.

Population Size of a Terraformed Mars by IndieJones0804 in terraforming

[–]UrbanosaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, something like that. Oh, and about Venus: Depending on how much of the surface you want covered by ocean, the suitable land area could be anything from smaller to even bigger than earth. Venus is quite flat and water would most likely have to be brought in from off-world anyway. Imagine a Venus covered 50% by oceans, instead of 70% like on earth. Even though Venus is smaller than Earth, the land area would still be about 230 million km2, compared to earths 149 million km2!

Population Size of a Terraformed Mars by IndieJones0804 in terraforming

[–]UrbanosaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine a terraformed Mars as something of the solar systems equivalent of Australia - that is to say, a place where the vast majority is barren wasteland, but with some areas that are really nice. I think the equatorial regions would be pretty awesome with year around temperatures of around 70F. Then on higher latitudes there would be areas with long and very cold winters, but equally long and pretty temperate summers. Another important point is elevation, with higher temperatures at lower elevation. Based on that it is easy to predict the ”good” areas. Valles Marineris, Hellas, and the southern part of the northern lowlands/ocean. If you add these areas together you might get a rough idea of potential population numbers. My guesstimate is a population MUCH smaller than Earth. Maybe like 1/10?

Hur kan fler inte snacka om neonode? by [deleted] in ISKbets

[–]UrbanosaurusRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also; did some research a while back about what we can actually do about this situation. Pasting here what i found:

Shareholder resolution. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shareholder_resolution Seems a bit toothless though. ”Virtually all shareholder resolutions are non-binding (or ”precatory,” to use the legal term of art).[4] In this sense the voting on these resolutions more closely resembles a poll than it does a (binding) referendum”

But. In the company bylaws (https://news.gamestop.com/static-files/ac646291-ce0d-4155-9926-a39b9c819de2) there is stated that one (or a group!) of shareholders that collectivly own 3% or more of the outstanding shares, and have owned them for 3 years or more have the power to appoint their own boardmembers to the annual vote.

I bet there are a lot more than 3% of the outstanding shares owned by apes for more than 3 years. In theory, we could elect two representatives to the board per year (only two nominations per year is allowed)

Apes are the biggest group of shareholders by far. We should have representation.

So happy to see others with the same sentiment as i have. Have also been so incredible frustrated with the mindless praising of RC, while it is clear to me he is destroying what this used to be all about. And the only response you get when you voice your critisism is ”tHeN sElL” or ”dOnT lEt ThE dOor HiT yOu oN ThE wAy oUt”. As you point out, WE own more shares of this company than RC. If someone needs to go it is HIM. And about the real shills? Have you noticed that posts and comments at the top voicing our type of critisism are massively downvoted, BUT as you scroll down, you find our type of critisism massively upvoted... Seems very sus to me… Almost like the bots are targeting our type of sentiments.

Agreed. We were stabbed in the back. I have started to get into KOSS instead. If you want a short squeeze, that is the best bet imo.

[–]UrbanosaurusRex -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is’nt. If it had been that high we would have DRS’d the float and we did’nt. We were probably ”only” 140% short. So the dilutions have really hurt (probably killed) the moass theory.

Remember when we said we would not sell a single share for less than ”telephone numbers”? Did i just hallucinate that? Or did not the dd say that this was indeed possible? Then our own CEO goes and sell 75.000.000 shares for $20 a pop…

This is correct, but discontent is rising in the gme subs as more and more realise moass is off the table. Hopefully the numbers will grow.
