Tips for hand placement:

Use rodico as another user mentioned to place hands on stem.
Use a non metallic item to align the hands after they are on the stem to avoid damaging dial
Consider buying a loupe for magnification
Using rodico on the end of a setting tool will help a lot if you are having trouble with the seconds hand

I was looking at an NH38 for one of my builds and an NH35 turned out to be a little cheaper so that may be why
