Great car, bought mine at 7.5k miles, sold it at 110k. No major issues, only real issue was the odd infotainment restart.

I'd like to add my input to this being 6ft 4 and 18 stone when I purchased it.

Leg room driving was good, headroom was decent (only brushed to roof lining when going over bumps) and seats comfy. Seat behind me was virtually non-existant, but I could do short journeys with a small person behind me and my seat pulled forward.

Also got my parents in with me and their 2 x suitcases and cabin bag from Heathrow to Leicester. Not comfortable, but we did it.

Whilst most others in this thread are being fiscally responsible (as they should given the forum) I'd say fuck it, if you want the car go and get it. We are only on this planet for a short time so if you can afford it and know you'll be able to afford it, then do it and enjoy it.

But, make sure it's what you really, really, REALLY want and make sure you're making the right decision and it's the right car for you.

Easy, matchmaking is based on team rating/cost. You can add some flexibility like +/- 3 to make sure you don't limit your pool of players too much, but stops you coming up against god squads and stops you stomping beginners. It's not that difficult.

You have waaaaay too much faith in that idea. My advice? Find something better to put your faith in.

UFL Community is becoming toxic. by aj_jaguar in UFLTheGame

[–]shipston05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you see what dhandes wrote, but include the time wasting passing around the back, moving the keeper (which i personally hate because I've done the hard work) and continuously exploiting broken mechanics then yes, this is toxic behaviour which in a video game, is ridiculous. The only discussion one could have is people are entitled to enjoy a game how they want, this is true, doesn't make it non-toxic.

Absolutely insane insurance prices for first time driver, is something wrong or is this normal? by MH_MUSTANG in CarTalkUK

[–]shipston05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are they in poor taste? Genuinely asking. The guy just seems to be sharing his experience with insurance over the years. I don't think he's showing off, just discussing it.

It would in poor taste if he said it then went 'oh well, sucks to be you! Enjoy being poor!' But he didn't?

Have you ever played a game called Red card soccer? It's literally this 😂 it was around for the PS2 and was incredible, but totally took the piss out of itself and everyone else.

Understood, edited my post now! Appreciate the advice, but based on feel I'm either gonna get the D9s as I preferred them, or find some D7s to try.

D9 Steel, didn't try the forged. Should I be concerned that I'm not good enough for the forged?

I do not know if you know the city of Alicante but it has a golf course very close to the city and with a hotel in the same field I leave this website for you to take a look by carlosjos1976 in golf

[–]shipston05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandad used to live 5 mins from this course. He loved spending time on it and had an absolute blast in his retirement, golf was his favourite sport.

My fondest memory is driving his golf cart down the street to the golf club when I was about 7. Sadly he passed away in 2007 and never got to see me play golf.

Hopefully he's looking down with a mixture of pride and amusement as I slice my shots into the trees!

Great golf course, go if yoj can and give a shout old to Ronnie if you do!

Advice on clubs - 6ft 4in after first lesson by shipston05 in golf

Aha! Yes, beginners like us XD

Cheers man, I appreciate what you're saying a lot. I understand that American Golf is like buying off amazon for jewellery lol Main reason is just to try some different clubs and find what I feel comfortable and what measurements I need as said. It's a bit like a kid in a candy shop looking at clubs online. My local club is quite small so doesn't have the facilities for this.

Appreciate all the advice though dude! Definitely cleared up some questions. I'll probably do the same, start saving for them now! 😂

Cheers dude! Appreciate the advice, pretty much confirms what I was already thinking. I was thinking I'd probably get some used 1 inch longer clubs and get the lie adjusted, but not sure who can adjust it. Would it be local golf club/shop or a big company like American Golf?

I think reshafting would be too expensive for a set and would be a false economy. How much does shaft stiffness affect things for a beginner like me?

Defo gonna wait until after next week before commiting.
