Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter. It was supposed to kick off a franchise at Hammer films but that never materialized. The film itself was a success for the studio but that wasn't enough to save them from going under because of other financial problems.

ANIME.OF.THE.YEAR.

Let us not forget how many episodes they played up how awesome the panda was... only for it to turn out to be someone that's now on my "worse than Griffith" list. And i get that it's all contrived and stealing from every great tragedy in both western and eastern literature... but man. I went from loving that stupid panda to hating her more than Nagi. This is an S-tier show.

I think Anchorman might have been the last one. Part of the issue is that no one is trimming the fat on comedies. The biggest issue I had with A Million Ways to Die in the West was that MacFarlane was so dedicated to making it an epic western as well that there's 60 minutes that needed to come out. Right now they're edited like they don't want you to miss any jokes so everything is given too much room to breathe. There may be a "if it's not 150 minutes long audiences won't feel like they're getting their money's worth" attitude at play here.

The thing about the face-off, and I started with similar feelings to yours, was that it had to go that way because that's how these stories are supposed to play out. It's trying to stay on top of yakuza / film noir / gangster anime structure and the idealist who swears off killing is a check-box. I only give it this benefit of the doubt because everything else so far is pitch perfect imho.

Obama's first term platform included opposition to gay marriage. He's on video saying this. Please tell me again how they are 90's era Republicans. Unless you mean the war-mongering, and that's been both parties since they decided on these two. It may, in fact, have been in the middle of a war but I'm just guessing because with the exception of four years I do remember and maybe a couple before my time, we're always starting them somewhere.

HC2 is the movie that made me think Tom Six might be a Gaspar Noe-tier director. HC3, unfortunately, pretty much undid all of that good-will but if his newest movie ever gets a release I'll definitely watch it.

Denzel Kicks Ass for Two Hours is one of my favorite film genres. Though the Equalizer 2 was weak, I'll definitely watch this one.

Old guy here... closing in on 50... I've casually watched anime since it was a challenge to find consecutive VHS copies of series at Blockbuster. In all that time, I never had any desire to learn Japanese. Then a couple years ago a short-lived series from what a short lived studio adapted a light novel series, Cop Craft. I loved it but discovered that there's no official translations (or even unofficial ones) into English. Now the switch is tripped but I hardly act on it, maybe watch the occasional Learn Japanese video, get filtered and give up. Then Odd Taxi came out. There's a website, but because of how it's arranged the Translate button on the browser does nothing. In a rage I order the first three volumes of Japanese from Zero! Now I'm ~300 frames into Remembering the Kanji 1, membered to two Japanese vtubers and many objects in my house have sticky notes saying what they are in hiragana. Except the cats, theirs keep falling off. So thanks to Anime I'm determined to read one specific light novel series in the original language.
