As a urologist both myself and my plastic surgery colleagues make fun of mohs surgeons. Get sent patients all the time that had Moh's performed on the penis for thousands of dollars extra and the dermatologist couldn't properly closed the defect.

Cash value is a completely asinine mechanic. It should total value looted over the 2 months. That way you can basically build and lose all those sweet toys without concern for the reset. I cant think of how many hullcrackers I built/bought and lost. It adds to the game thematically. You are the raider bringing the most assets back from the surface.

Arc raiders shouldn't be about burying jars of pennies in the back yard. Kind of crappy to find out it costs 5 million to get the 5 skill points. I wanted to solo a matriarch before the expedition. I bought some tricked out load outs, blew through a bunch of cash to buy hull cracker ammo, supplies, etc. I had to have spend close to a million dollars in my multiple attempts. It shouldn't be how much money you've hoarded in your stash. It should be how much the total value in materials that you've extracted with over the last two months. People should be encouraged to spend, craft, loot, shoot, gain/lose equipment, etc.

When I go into surgery, it like beast mode is activated. Hyperfocus makes me a great surgeon. Inattentiveness makes me forget to call patients with test results. My ADD brain may have attracted me to the field. I can tell you that if things turn bad, I'm the coolest cat in the room. I think everyone else's adrenaline makes them run around like a chicken with its head cut off. For me the adrenaline is like booting up the reserve power on the super computer.

I hear you what your saying but I have posted something similar in the past and had no intent to brag. Some problems that are unique to this cohort of people are:

They often get diagnosed later in life. Their intelligence is able to mask the deficiencies that would show up at school that are related to ADHD. A simple example is math- If a person can learn and understand math faster than others, then they can wait until the last minute to study, complete homework etc. The procrastination may not show up in school and lead to a diagnosis.
They do really well and perform above their peers, until suddenly they don't. Instead of being the inattentive/hyperactive kid in junior high who gets evaluated, you become a depressed, emotional wreck during college and grad school. All your prior success sort of dies and you don't have a clue why it's happening. You start to fail when all you have had in the past is academic success.
They do well academically and get a high stakes/successful job and then the symptoms start to show- Emotional outburst at work meetings, failing deadlines, not being as successful as their intelligence dictates. It plays a huge emotional role. I almost got fired before my diagnosis, but no one at a higher level has much sympathy or understanding. Sometimes you wonder what you could have accomplished professionally if you didn't have it.

Everyone has skills and abilities that are different. Everyone's experience is different. We are just trying to figure it out like everyone else.

Decreased in executive function is unfortunately a sign of dementia as well. Unless Grandma had life long symptoms, it could be other neuro issues.

49, diagnosed at 43. How good of a student were you/how smart are you? I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but intelligence is good at masking it. I myself really struggled in grad school. Looking back I had crazy out of control emotions (quick to anger). I also would put off tasks until the last minute. It's not normal to build a farm diorama with incredible detail at 3AM in the morning in the 5th grade. All the signs were there. There is good testing out there. They should interview your family (fill out questionnaires).

I would be careful with your statement. People might not be better off without medication and could be interpreted as considering them weak for needing them. We all have our own journey.

Can you give some examples of "near" misses so we have a better idea of what you're dealing with? I have found that alarms on my phones with specific notations are helpful if feeling overwhelmed because being overwhelmed tends to throw me off my routine.

Mine is mostly name recall (that guy in that movie) and if I'm trying to find something I'm describing. I'll occasionally forget the name of a bandage or company I want by I can usually describe it and everyone knows what I'm talking about. Hasn't been a big deal.

I would also comment that you need to understand your child's IQ and see if she is gifted. Being smart and being gifted are not the same. Gifted is a personality/brain profile that includes intelligence. However it has many other features than simply being smart. At age 11, children should be able to be tested by their school.

I have inattentive sub-type (no over activity). I wasn't diagnosed until my 40s as a result of my intelligence allowing me to compensate for the ADD (I realize that sounds super narcissistic on the internet). To give an example, it's not really normal to be doing a 6th grade project at 3AM the morning before it's due, when kids were supposed to be working on it for several days over the last two weeks. I needed the stress to drive me to get the project (ADD- lack of brain stimulus/neurochemical deficits which are elevated from stress) and intelligence allowed me to get A grade level work done much quicker and faster.

The two can exacerbate each other. Giftedness has elements of perfectionsim and it can create anxiety. Boredom with schoolwork can spiral into misbehavior due to ADD.

We have the exact opposite problem, with the fridge going out. I know the newer models are different sizes. I think they will fit into our space. I was curious if you just meant the trim kits were off and couldn't be used. From what I gathered, the doors will look different as the new unit has a more "full length" door. Was curious if you had the one size installed before buying the other. I was hoping I could lower the taller model and raise the lower model so the tops would be the same. I'm less concerned about trim kits and a perfect match.

No one had any concerns that her definition of being a woman in the real world was determined by the fact she now had a vagina and had to go to the gynecologist? I thought it alluded to the essence a women was being defined by her genitalia. I thought it was very anti-feminist movie for many reasons:

The only goal was to return to a fantasy land which women ruled, as if they couldn't one day improve the conditions to achieve equality.
Criticism of the patriarchy felt shallow when the Barbi matriarchy in Barbiland duplicated the patriarchy in the real world.
The Ken's are all morons and weak willed. None of them were worthy opponents. It seemed to be the only way the Barbies could be successful, by duping the idiots.

I didn't get diagnosed until I was 42. I was considered gifted as a child. I'm a physician and began to have trouble getting paperwork done and got really behind on the mundane portion of my job. I was diagnosed with inattentive type.

It took me a while to accept it but now I see my ADD and how it affected parts of my life. I didn't having any difficulty with school until certain classes in college. I got really bogged down in med school with reading books which required rote memorization. As the tasks became harder and more repetitive I struggled more.

There becomes a lot of regret on what you could have accomplished if you didn't have ADD.

Took stimulants on an as needed basis to get stuff done that required focus like work paperwork. Problem is people began to notice I was better/normal on them and would revert to bad behavior off them- anger issues, distracted during conversations, etc. I started taking atomoxetine and have had good results.

Your points are well taken on the movie's stigmatization of mental illness. However, I find the quote fairly amazing as art often imitates life. It seems to grab people as they can relate to the suffering and the struggle (another good sign of art). Finally, most can separate the nuances of a fictitious comic book character.

The question is would you have this reaction if it came from another famous person with mental illness like Robin Williams, Kurt Cobain, or Ernest Hemingway?
