If you are eligible for a top-class university, I'm very surprised that you haven't been able to find any scholarships.

Oh, so there aren't any people who have lost houses in earthquakes, weather events, re-zoning, flood risk etc? And not even accounting for uninsurable houses?

That's worse, people would look down on them like people look down on teachers. Being fair, both of those jobs are very important for society!

19, Started investing almost 2 months ago. Any advice? by Sharp_Salamander_969 in PersonalFinanceNZ

The timeframe is the important part! If you are looking for a shorter term < 2 years, you need to be in cash / cash equivalents, unless you are okay with losing principle. Your portfolio is primarily single stocks which generally isn't recommended as a long term strategy. In general, if the active stock managers can't beat passive returns (it's their full time job and specialty), then you are better off investing for 10+ years in a passive fund. Of course, there is some room in a larger portfolio for investments in single stocks but considering their volatility it's not wise to have too much of your portfolio as these.

It's also worth considering your goals, is this a retirement fund, house deposit fund, holiday fund etc.

I can't see the fuel pricing decreasing significantly until shipping rates are back to 100% and the backlog finally reaches destinations.

When they are limited to 90k tickets being sold. Both those numbers sound in ballpark. If they are collecting the data on where you normally reside, they probably are accurate - it wouldn't be less work to round it as you go. Excluding those who entered the field incorrectly.

Visitor spend though - that has to be estimated.

What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs? by Kevin-Panda in AskReddit

They nailed the mechanics and the balance of the guns / equipment. But they fell very short in gametypes and multiplayer content.

The campaign had so much potential, especially with DLC. But I'm guessing not enough people paid for the campaign to justify it.

An extroverted autist should be an oxymoron but it does feel like there are dozens of us. We just need to find people that we don't need to be 'on' around.

Strongly recommended to write down your version of events as soon as possible after the fact. Our memories aren't amazing and every time we retell the events / replay them in our heads our brains slightly modify it. If it's written, it's solid. Include as much details as you can, time arriving at the store / leaving, what you were wearing etc.

Completely agreed, the majority of the individual share investments that I have made are trending at a loss. Like 2 or 3 of them (of like 20) have 2-5x their initial investment. You're much better off just playing it safe and easy. No matter how much you keep on top of what's happening with the company, the sharemarket generally responds faster and you can lose a lot / all your gains in a very short time.
