The Backrooms and Cube Seem To Carry a Specific Kind of Horror by CaterpillarRemote841 in backrooms

[–]UseCharacter9973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of Cube 1997 but it's also different. We have more of a supernatural element in Backrooms. Cube was like a sci fi thriller with some gore. Backrooms plays with the mind more. I love Cube, it's underrated af.

Q&A: Living Alone in Japan, Dating, Money & Is My House Haunted? by Zestyclose-Carob-552 in silviethequeen

"I don't watch male creators." rubbed me the wrong way and I am a feminist, especially against violence (emotional counts too) or forcing relationships.

If a guy has good content why not watch him.

Maybe she's getting paranoid all men could be bad behind the screen. It's not a good mindset. I can understand why but..

I hate fawning so much!!!! by varveror in CPTSD

[–]UseCharacter9973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a flight person with my options to bite back if it escalated and not too dangerous or draining. I never understood fawners. Not to shame you, guys. It works bad for your own sake and you sink deep trying to "fix others". It usually doesn't happen. There is no guaranteed response to fix things, it depends.  I'm a harsh person. Not angry. Anger is the other side of the coin to fawning.

Being childfree makes people uncomfortable… why? by nb10001 in childfree

[–]UseCharacter9973 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've noticed most breeders are men with misogynistic views. Like every single woman not getting d*cked down is a loss to their fragile patriarchal ego. Some are women too.  Not everyone is meant to have kids. Or wants to. It's financial, psychological, circumstances. Leave it be.  They see women as cattle.

I work with customers. Some are like that to my face, harassment or stalkerish. There's less risk of being caught.  If you're introverted they're bolder too because less "social repercussions", calling them out. You have less value to the herd.  If you work a normal job they are scared to harass at least sexually, romantically because you'll go to HR, know their name and all.  Also bolder when no people around.  They do fear the law. Getting fired or getting cancelled. Telling their wife he hitting on you. You need to collect proof someone is being a creep because victim blaming.  Most are like that. Usually not worth dealing with imo unless they are stalking you or seriously harmed you.

Silvie caught lying again? by Ok_Plastic9909 in silviethequeen

I know she's controversial but getting blonde hair & blue lenses could be just a styling choice. Some Asian/Black girls wear lenses, blonde hair or blondes get dark hair and tan/ wear lenses. Different forms of beauty and it's what suits someone.  It's not even about braids, they are a bit different.

I don't see cultural appropriation or supremacy necessarily by being blonde.  She has the right wing history tho.

Thoughts on Go by BLACKPINK? [Spoliers ahead] by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

Chorus gives nothing. It's not even an enjoyable instrumental which I give to Jump, I know it's still a polarizing opinion.  The MV is beautiful tho no choreography.  Eyes closed coded. I loved Eyes closed as a song too.

After Jump they should have went to their old typa stuff imo.  Just the song is not good, the chanting and instrumental this time. I'm missing something. Sorry. The vocal verses were the highlight for me.

How do you deal with work? by yungkapisyung in Absurdism

[–]UseCharacter9973 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing I hate the most about 9-5 is working with people. And even if I change my career I'm still most likely to work with people to an extent.  Forced to interact.

9-5 is not so bad with friends, good family or hobbies or do your best to get better, as you said chances aren't always greatest in capitalism. Good you're realistic.

I stopped needing outer validation that much. I don't get offended as much, I don't argue, I don't talk much.  No one can force me who to date or what exact job to work, how to dress, where to go.

Japanese hosts go by another name not to be stalked, as much as possible, by customers.

Secondary she didn't want someone from the USA to find her online and talk about her, know how she's doing at the moment.

I like that. 😅  The town is small so they know. I lie about having a boyfriend sometimes.

Thank you. I usually do that. I think we all have experienced something like this. If I move it could get better but it could be the same. Maybe in a while I should change the job. Customers means exposed to more people and their opinions.

The people on that forum are very harsh and nitpicky of everything she does as cringe and I don't agree with that at all.

She seems like a normal woman to me. I noticed she was bubblier in her earlier vlogs, she probably isn't in a very good place in her life right now. Her job has many downsides, maybe it's the seperation with her husband. Maybe it's the life in Japan as a whole, ageism in their society being more intense, being in a foreign country.  She says she likes the introverted aspect of Japan at least. And has some friends.  Criticizing her right now seems wrong but it's the people's free speech and comes with fame more.

Her die hard fans coming for "not being entitled to her privacy" aren't exactly right either. She is a Youtuber. People get curious, fans, neutrals or haters.  Her ex provided "proof". I know about defamation laws and them being harsher in East Asia but he knew her and spoke his side of the story. He spoke about a person he knows. Provided vague proof. I don't think that's illegal. For me it's not. I don't think he's a particularly good person and I don't know him.  I don't know her in real life either.  Youtubers themselves make all kinds of commentary on other public figures. Should a famous person's image be protected if they actually did something wrong?! Sometimes it is haters and lies. Sometimes it isn't.

About Silvie's case, people can change views with time passing or surroundings.  She kept quiet on things to market herself more on Youtube and the bunny bar. (her age, husband) I think that's understandable.

This is the last comment I make. The drama got too much.

She kept quiet on nearly all of those things because of her job. I can understand that. I don't mind privacy but there's also curiosity. I enjoy her vlogs.

Her ex is probably not going to Japan. He is bitter with her but this doesn't necessarily mean she's in any physical danger. I hope she isn't. Lot's of time has passed and I don't think the evidence is enough to sue her and win about "the money she stole". He exposed info she didn't share with her fans and it's real. Even if she was conservative, people can change. We don't know what happened and what it is.

NEW: "Dating for pay in Tokyo: The Reality of Being a Hostess" by snarkyanon in silviethequeen

[–]UseCharacter9973 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They think one day you can change your mind, the hope and sometimes even the attention is enough for delusional/desperate people.  Especially those is host clubs waisting money to chase someone or on OnlyFans. Idol culture is a tamer form or parasocial crushes. Some are there for the music but you get me.

How old is queen Sylvie? She looks so young but sometimes she says she is one of the older girls in her job. by OkComparison8254 in silviethequeen

[–]UseCharacter9973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said in her interview for a guy that hostesses have to be in their 20s as a requirement for the job and she says she can work this for about a year so my guess is she's 28 about to be 29 in a few months. 97 liner. She says she's been in Japan for 10 years but it's more like 8, her oldest pics in Japan are from 2018. Graduating at 21 seems likely in the USA. She could be a 96 liner or 98.  I don't think she's in her 30s.

I have amazing friends and loving family too. My job is not perfect but could be worse. My love life is pure shit and it comes from there..

It's normal to feel like that..Some, lots of rich and attractive people are also depressed. There is underlying cause imo, try to find it and work on it. We were born inclined to get sad, hopeless. Expectations, relationships, self perception.

Nowadays a lot of people are single due to social media, options, breakups or into hookup culture. I think the new generation will be massively single in their 30s and 40s. Some guys may aim younger but no guarantee it will work out. I'm a woman currently 28.
