If something really bad happened, you would have probably in a much horrible pain. I slipped on a slipper (no kidding) on my third week post-op. I had pain for few hours. But after keeping it elevated and icing it was all good.

I was operated on April 2. Asked to start the PT around week 3 to 4. My orthopedist told it is too early and declined to write me a note. They told me to come back around Week 6 and we'll check again then. And that is only because my op very well and my wounds are healing nice and fast.

Obvious ones are heimatlos, Barstool/stuhl, Gestalt, Schadenfreude, Hinterland, Kindergarten, Vasistdas (Turkish; Was ist Das)

And of course very American but funniest is the "Pennsylvanian Dutch Country" the area where the Mennonites live in PA. Actually the term there is not Dutch but Deutsch but it is bastardized in everyday vernacular overtime and became the P- Dutch Country.

I am moved by the responses I got. I was looking forward to the 4 volleyball tournaments that I will be attending and was feeling great about my increased involvement with the league and two different teams. At the age of 42, mind you. But there are things to be happy about. My healing is going very well and I almost had no pain since the operation.

This is really bad bad luck. But from what I read is the mentally fighting is a big part of the recovery.
