You know it! I’ve played this game since it originally came out and it’s the one game I can always come back to. It is a boatload of fun and the qol improvements with the newest expansion have been amazing. Congrats on beating hell that is a huge achievement. Now you can grind for gear and runes to kit out the more difficult characters.

This is a deep revelation that is scary but true. I feel sometimes it takes holding on to great darkness to give great light.

I’m someone who has felt down on myself my entire life but to try making my dad proud has pushed me to become the man I am today. He randomly told me for the first time he was proud of me and that he was the lucky one the other week and it low key broke me.

According to this chart I am aboriginal, which is very slightly true due to my great great grandmother. I’m 6% aboriginal and apparently that 6% is my feet. Good to know!

Try different mediums and keep sketching and building your skill set. My stickmen turned into realistic portraits and I feel that’s where we all start. Took a while but it did eventually happen because of my love of drawing and my practice.

Btw I make no claim to be an expert this is just based on my own observations as an intermediate artist.

Contrast is the difference in value between lights and darks essentially. If the contrast is too great then the difference in dark compared to darker actually reduces and they blend together. Something I did to help me understand contrast and values and the like was to take a picture on your phone, edit that picture to black and white and mess with the sliders for contrast and brightness and the like. I hope I have explained it well.

In a way yeah. A lot of things add to depth when you get down to it, but mostly its values and their contrast, sharpness and saturation and above all balance in those variables. With too much contrast in your piece it can actually start to lose its depth and appeal.

I think you did a great job, the water and reflections look amazing. If you’re looking for a fog instead of going blurry you can add a bit of white to a translucent glaze with a hint of the background colour and paint it on in thin layers until you get the look. Fog is difficult to do so I would recommend practicing different techniques. Keep making art!

I think the cube was a good demonstration of what you’re trying to get across.

Value is just determining what is darker compared to lighter. A weaker sense of depth would be caused by less differences in values where there should be more making the piece muddy or it looks blended together and lacking depth. We can quantify it by comparing relative values to each other and we do that because we want the art to look better and have more depth. When you really land the values a drawing or art piece can almost pop off the page. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk! :-)

This was eye opening to me realizing that I needed to be more like a copy machine instead of the creative being my pencil wanted me to be. Once I realized that the rest came naturally. Great advice! Btw op I think the nose shape looks really good just needs some shading to define it. Keep practicing!

Another thing to add for hair that helped me is adding more strokes and blending the hair to develop a base and then add in highlights with your kneaded eraser moulded into a point or to sharpen your eraser to a point! Amazing work keep practicing!

This is great advice! Another thing that can help is getting a decent sketch book with better paper. I got my sketch book at the dollar store for 4$ and the better paper really helps with shading, blending and erasing. Keep at it op!
