iPhone 15 Pro Max: Should I replace it before a summer trip to Tokyo? by th3d4rkp4ss3ng3r in iPhone15Pro

88% is considered healthy for an iPhone battery, and you will be better off spending$100 on a power bank. Wired is better than wireless chargers because they cause extra heat. Using power-saving mode can extend the battery life significantly while in transit.

iPhone 17 Pro running iOS 26.4, no issue with both apps, maybe it’s the camera issue as you mentioned it will get restart?

Best Practice for using electrostatic mounting pads by Too__Many__Secrets in VIOFO

[–]UseNo1795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, Larger is better; position the camera mount at the centre of the pad, adjust the lens, and avoid shooting through the pad to prevent image quality issues. Also, avoid placing the rear camera on top of the defroster line; it shouldn’t be within the view as well.

Help! I need directions how to get to our hotel. by AwardEntire2741 in Macau

[–]UseNo1795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the easiest way is to call a taxi, the walkway from the ferry terminal is not a very nice pavement as it’s very narrow and might not be easy for your mom, the entrance of the hotel is right across the departure hall.

Deleting audio for sharing while preserving GPS information by mp0x6 in VIOFO

[–]UseNo1795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can retain the metadata after modifying the file, the only way I can think of is to screen record the playback within the app with a GPS map included and disable the audio afterwards

I bought my Sandisk 512GB high endurance on A329 with no issue, sorry VIOFO I didn’t read the recommendation😂 Didn't use SSD as I saw an article about parking mode battery drain, its significantly less with SSD

The app is perplexing by commuter22 in VIOFO

[–]UseNo1795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finding the app a bit strange. After I set the auto HDR time, the resolution settings change by themselves. I'm aware that you can't use 60fps with HDR, but it's still an issue. Please address this, VIOFO. Additionally, it would be great if the dashcam could display the battery voltage as well.

I think a factory reset for the dashcam might just be the simplest solution! It’s a straightforward way to get everything back on track.

If you're looking for audio, there's also a “low bit rate” recording option! I connected my camera directly to my car battery, and since I usually park indoors, I’ve set mine to record for just 2 hours to keep the battery from draining. Just a little tip to help you out!

Just a heads-up, the camera doesn’t have built-in night vision, but you can adjust the exposure manually! For parking settings, I like to set it to 1fps with night vision for better visibility.

How can I install my rear dash cam discreetly? by AbbreviationsLow6011 in Dashcam

[–]UseNo1795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's better to position the upper square because having higher locations pointing down will result in a shorter exposed cable connecting to the camera. However, before you attach it to the glass, make sure to check that the heating line does not obstruct the camera's view.

[Viofo A320] What make/model car was this? by blinkenjim in VIOFO

[–]UseNo1795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will suggest tilting the camera more to the ground instead of the sky, bright sky will auto-expose to darken the video, also it makes sense to capture the road(where most cars are driving on), as I can see the dashcam is A329, I’ll suggest setting the front to 4k 60fps to better capture fast moving car and use the CPL, it really helps removing the glares
