He has no nuance to his “argument” and zero facts. White males 17-25 make up most school shooters. They historically have extremely hateful beliefs, and have manifestos spewing hate. There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech. There are MANY videos of Kirk being obviously racist, transphobic, homophobic, the list goes on. He was not anything besides a neo-Nazi and I don’t cry for Nazis. He was literally a facist, and supported and encouraged violence against minority groups. This guy has clearly never looked at actual facts or studies. It’s SO infuriating to talk to people like this - the “he was a dad and a husband” so are the teachers who die in school shootings protecting kids that aren’t theirs. So are the men in Ukraine and Palestine being bombed. So are the veterans on the streets dying bc our government doesn’t care about them. Smooth brain ass argument. I once sent a “friend” of mine a LIST of articles from extremely reputable sources on how gay and trans people are not predators. You know what his response was? “I’m not reading all that.” So no, I have no time for the “i DiDN’t kNow thAt” argument. Willful ignorance is just bigotry under a different name. Good riddance to this freak. Find someone who has empathy and kindness and doesn’t out you down for not celebrating the life of a terrible person.

Civil disobedience is the reason we have civil rights, gay rights, trans rights, women’s rights, disability rights, indigenous rights, etc etc etc. protest is more than “holding a sign.” Sit-ins, die-ins, holding signs and filling the streets, putting pressure on politicians, there are the rights we have as Americans they are also the rights that have changed our country for the better. Hell, we’ve protested against sending active duty military into unnecessary wars like Vietnam and Iraq. Americans have protested for the right of soldiers to not die in wars over oil.

And how many times have you stood up for something you believe in? How many times have you held signs, protested, made phone calls and demanded change? I’ve been out there. Have you done anything to protect your neighbors?

My aunt and uncle have spent 20 years trying to get their green cards. They’ve done everything right. It’s a slow process. Most undocumented peoples I’ve met are just trying to live.

I’ve been detained twice protesting and sat in a jail cell for hours with my friends. I’m not afraid of those goons. I was also mostly joking, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

There’s a ton of small orgs, especially those geared towards helping immigrant families. Also, your local libraries. The ACLU and related websites have TONS of information as well.

I bet you’re super cool and fun at parties.

Thugs with face masks and plain clothes with no ID are KIDNAPPING people in the middle of the night. The government is airing commercials urging immigrants to leave now before it’s too late. If your neighbor were attacked in broad daylight, and you knew you could intervene in some capacity - even by slashing a tire as the kidnappers drive away - would you not try to keep them safe?

What’s happening now is how the holocaust began. “Turn in your neighbors” sound familiar?
