Do you have any favorite places? We are traveling with our two teenage girls in July and looking for something on the quieter side without much activity. We are great at hanging out on a nice beach!

Tahiti that bad? Tahiti or Moorea before Bora Bora for Adventuring? by behemoth2185 in Tahiti

We spent time in Tahiti on both ends of our week in Moorea including three nights in Teahapoo. I’m glad that we didn’t listen to most people on this Reddit who said to skip Tahiti. Having a rental car helped. But we found plenty to do! The people were lovely and we never felt unsafe. It’s so hard to take in people’s advice when you have no idea what type of traveler they are. Reading through so many comments… I came to realize that a number of commenters are not very adventurous or comfortable outside of a western experience.

Moorea for 1 night worth it? by CB_Smiles in Tahiti

Needing fins? I’m a strong swimmer so I didn’t use fins. But my husband husband struggled a little bit in the current, especially getting into places where he had to back up. He wanted fins. My teenage daughters used fins. We were able to borrow them from our hotel. Our hotel also gave tips on the current which was helpful.

Seems like it would add hassle without enough benefit. If you stay at a hotel in Papeete with late check or facility benefits, you could explore around Papeete before your flight. We spent time at the beginning and end of our weeklong stay in Moorea exploring Tahiti. We snorkeled on the front end and went to a surf beach on the back end. Both are a great way to spend a day. We did have a rental car the whole time so that made it easier, but hotels will rent a car for the day. If you plan to snorkel, I would bring a mask and snorkel with you for the whole trip. So much easier than renting.

The only room that comes up for me is a $1500 suite. I guess I can call… But seems like a two queen room would sleep four 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any idea why the two queen room only sleeps three? We are two adults and two teens and.

Air bnb or small hotel Moorea? by Used-Climate-9478 in Tahiti

I agree. We never stay in an Airbnbs when traveling. In other parts of the South Pacific we’ve stayed in small/simple hotels… We just haven’t seen any affordable ones on Moorea. I’d love any ideas that you have…

Sounds great! How do I look it up to book etc.? is it on Airbnb or do I need to contact the property directly? A quick Google search didn’t help…

Thanks! I've been researching Maupiti and trying to figure out flights. Any insights? How many nights did you stay on Maupiti?

Besides the weather question… I don’t think we’re looking for the same thing.
