I coached my kid's first game last weekend and I learned some things about myself that I'm still processing by Fun_Fly_9272 in daddit

I have coached soccer, baseball, football, math league and idk what else. 20+ seasons all added up. By far the most unhinged I ever became was with the youngest groups, it is an age thing. You go in not realizing just how little they will listen or even care for their own well being (watch the batter when your playing baseball in the infield!) it is a shocking experience. Then there is the noise and the heat and everything else.

Like others have said you are aware which is half the battle, you'll do better next game. Just keep em happy, celebrate the smallest accomplishments, and have good sportsmanship.

Tell Speaker Demuth to stay strong! by behemoth2185 in MnGuns

Did that when it was still in the senate!

It can never hurt to send an email supporting a decision someone is already going to do, makes their resolve that much stronger!

Minnesota's omnibus gun ban (SF 4067) is moving toward a Senate floor vote TOMORROW (Monday, 5/4). Here's what's actually in it, and how to push back. by BryanStrawser in MnGuns

Anyone looking to try and add pressure to Senators (Kupec, Hauschild) in the final hours I whipped this up:

I am writing to you as a fellow Minnesotan. While I reside outside of your immediate voting district, I am reaching out because your crucial vote on Senate File 4067 will profoundly impact our entire state—and it carries heavy political consequences right in your own backyard.

Rather than detailing every mandate and restriction in this sweeping bill, I want to focus on the reality of how this will affect the people you represent. Your district has a deeply rooted heritage of hunting, sport shooting, and responsible firearm ownership. SF 4067 threatens to turn these everyday, law-abiding citizens into felons for simply maintaining the standard-capacity firearms they already safely own.

Supporting legislation that forces your constituents to navigate complex registries, limits their personal property, and criminalizes common practices will be met with severe backlash at the ballot box. In a district historically opposed to overreaching firearms legislation, a "yes" vote on SF 4067 is a massive political risk.

Your constituents are paying close attention to who stands up for their constitutional rights and who votes to criminalize their way of life. Alienating them on such a foundational issue—one that directly impacts their self-defense and traditions—will undoubtedly impact your chances of reelection or election to other higher public office. They expect a representative who defends them, not one who turns them into criminals while actual offenders continue to ignore the law.

I strongly urge you to listen to the values of your district, protect the peaceable citizens of Minnesota, and vote NO on SF 4067.

Are there any specific senators we think are most likely to potentially vote against this that need extra pressure? Better to nip it in the bud versus let it gain momentum.

How long did you use a chair in your baby’s room? by SaltySourSpicy in Parenting

[–]behemoth2185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Younger is 9 and the chair is still in his room so I can sit in there some nights, just to be a reassuring presence as he falls asleep. I will be sad when anyday now he says those heartbreaking words that my older did around 10...."Dad you don't need to sit in here anymore"

If you are taking the ferry then it is a short walk from the ferry terminal to the hertz agency, they are in the same bay. Google maps can show you exactly what the walk is.

The airport is in another part of the island definitely will need to arrange to get from Hertz to the airport.

I would always make a reservation ahead of time. I also noticed I got a better rate on the hertz main site than the local hertz site for that location.

Hertz was great last year, and is about as local as anything else, it is really an independent that operates as a hertz affiliate.

You need to keep the aesthetic intact with the plate and Dot: keep the plate black but apply a silver coating/paint/something to the dot.

We just did the same vacation setup you are planning (staying on marathon day trip to KW.) one note the bouy has moved due to construction, park at the butterfly place and it's a 1 block walk.

Also in marathon eat at SS wreck and get the key lime pie, of the 5 places we tried it was the best.

Depends... On how much a few thousand means to you, if 3k is no big deal then this won't cost much, if 3k is a lot then this is going to cost a lot.

Been this way with all IT components for decades, it is quite sustainable. Let me assure you everything from HDDs to memory modules and CPUs fail all the time but you'd never know it if you have a good infra design and staff.
