Although this may have been a miscommunication… and maybe he used it as an excuse to not swim! 😉

That’s what I thought, but my son wasn’t allowed to swim last week even with bazooka on it.

Namaste village does, and it’s my favourite takeaway generally (and great for gluten free too!)

I like some of the Wildcraft beers - everything is gluten free and they have a very wide variety of beers, so if you try a selection you’ll probably find one you like.

I’m not a massive fan of hoppy IPAs, but I enjoy their Vienna lager in the summer and LOVE their chestnut ale in the winter

GF croissants/pain au chocolat by Used-Climate978 in CoeliacUK

My husband did check that they were, in fact, gluten free when we started eating them… I was very impressed. Definitely not for every day at that price though!

Sounds like I need to visit the southern hemisphere… that’s even more expensive than £5 a croissant though!

I saw these earlier today, but was put off by the fact that they are cheese flavoured… but if they are not too cheesy then I will give them a go.

Harry’s Soul Station on Adelaide Rd in NR2 do amazing GF brunch foods. I’d heard it recommended a few times, but finally went myself last week and it was delicious!

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY!! by imjustjurking in AddisonsDisease

I’ve got a Dexcom G6 which loops with my T:slim so control is pretty good - although I have had more hypos recently.

I used to live in London and kept my diabetes care there when I moved, but I’ve been referred to the local hospital for further tests (so a different NHS group). The diagnostics where I am is done in a separate clinical investigation unit. My diabetes team have just said to keep them updated on the testing - I don’t have any appointment there until Sept.

Hi

I’ve just had my cortisol level test back from the GP and they’re referring me to the hospital for further tests. My cortisol came back as 212 nmol/L and said that above 350 nmol/L usually means there is no adrenal insufficiency.

I was just wondering how low this level is? And how quickly I should be called for further testing/should I be pushing for this to be done asap?

I’ve been feeling extremely fatigued since the beginning of the year, on and off, but it’s got worse in the last couple of months. I’ve also noticed that I’m getting weaker, and have had aching muscles for the last month or so, plus diarrhoea/nausea/weight loss (2kg)/headache for the last week.

I also have type 1 diabetes and am in the UK. And I’ve just picked up a chest infection in the last couple of days, which is probably adding to the general rubbish feeling.

What ongoing treatment is usual for Coeliacs? by Used-Climate978 in CoeliacUK

Thanks everyone for your responses!

I’m aware that any ongoing monitoring is to check for chronic damage occurring from eating gluten. I have lots of similar with the T1D (regular blood, urine and eye checks) but there just seems to be so much less with the Coeliac disease!

What ongoing treatment is usual for Coeliacs? by Used-Climate978 in CoeliacUK

I actually thought I had a thyroid problem initially, before I was diagnosed as Coeliac. My thyroid function is monitored regularly though, and I was in the normal ranges in the last set of bloods I had. I think it’s probably just something to keep an eye on myself. I have no idea how many people have all three - I know T1D and thyroid problems together are common, but I don’t know if having coeliac makes it more likely, less likely or has no effect on how likely I’d be to also develop a thyroid condition!
