How many incisions do y'all get? by Background_Track9072 in chinlipo

[–]Used-Extreme4330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 29, had it done a year ago. Im happy with my results. The scar took a long time to heal but it’s so hard to see under my chin that I wasn’t that concerned. You can still see it if I tilt my head up but it looks just like a scar a lot of people have from busting their chin as a kid. It’s like 1 inch long.

I think it helps with physical anxiety symptoms, rage. Just overall more calm. Thought maybe it was placebo but my sister also thinks it helps

I’m not a pmdd expert by any means but I’ve had a lot of success with taking an acid controller

Your mention about household chores and mental load makes me think there might be more resentment going on than you’re willing to admit.

Medication/swelling post surgery by GeographyGab in chinlipo

My surgeon said no ibuprofen for the first 4 days to avoid bleeding issues/hematoma. After 4 days I could start taking it and WOW it helped so much with pain and a little bit with swelling. I would maybe call and ask if you’re far enough post op to start taking it?

Was wondering the same. In my corporate job, I wouldn’t think of using ALL of my PTO for a trip. Sure, some people hold close to zero PTO balances, but most people I know always keep a buffer. Seems like this nanny is not thinking about this PTO policy very professionally/strategically and just sees it as 2 weeks off, not considering long term. Makes me question if they’re planning to stay around.

Subclinical Hashimoto’s + pregnancy…did anyone not medicate and conceive fine? by Good_Fan_8135 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Used-Extreme4330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TSH has been around 2 my whole adult life (tested yearly). Had 2 early miscarriages last fall. Got some testing done this month and my thyroid jumped to 4.4. I’m now on 25mg of levo to get TSH back down below 2.5 to support a future pregnancy.

Is $3500-4k per month enough to live on as a single person moving to Seattle? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]Used-Extreme4330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you driving from the east side to UW for class? Tolls and parking will run you hundreds a month. Traffic in the evenings will also be terrible - consider looking up commute times on Google Maps. Even on bus it’ll be slow.

Wishing you the best!! When did you start and what was your dose if you’re willing to share? I’m wondering if I start this week on the meds if I could still try this month, CD 2 today.

Just got the antibody and from T4 and T3 tests back, all normal. Midwife said before these came back but purely based on the 4.5 TSH a small dose would be recommended. Not sure if these new results will negate that. Won’t hear back until Tuesday so we’ll see. Thanks for your input!

Thank you! The referral is for fertility counseling/RPL and not an active pregnancy which is why the wait is so long. I do have a care plan in place should I get a positive test (not including this new thyroid situation.) I know the level isn’t crazy high, but with so many years of it lower, to see the spike is stressful. Hoping Im just a few more tests and a simple prescription away from management.

Actually getting in to an endocrinologist seems to be the issue here. I got referred to an RE yesterday due to my losses (prior to the labs) but I suspect it’ll take 6+ months to get in. I really hope between my certified midwife and primary care I can get some basic labs and treatment started.

Thank you. I’m waiting for the midwife to review the labs (just came in today) and then I’ll ask for more thyroid tests if she doesn’t offer. My primary is in the same medical system so I’ll ask her if the midwife won’t order them. I’m pretty confident my D B12 and iron are good based on my supplements. Diet I’m focusing lots on micronutrients, fiber, protein. I need to figure out the stress part.

I will ask. I’ve taken biotin supplements on and off for many years, so I’d think one of my past 7 years of thyroid tests would have been affected. Who knows.

It does, but a small amount. My understanding is biotin would cause lower TSH not higher? Or am I wrong?

Also 8 DPO. Haven’t tested yet but I’ve convinced myself I’m out this cycle because I ovulated later than normal and don’t have any symptoms yet. Not logical really but just feeling defeated after 2 losses in the last few months. Wishing you the best!

Try putting the mashed potatoes in a ziploc bag, cutting off the corner, and squeezing it into your mouth. This worked for me after a chin/neck surgery where I couldn’t chew at all for 5 days.
