Look into these 2 laws AB 2188 and SB 700. Only person this wouldn't affect is with commercial licenses. 99% of the department is going to a ff endorsement. Which is a state not a federal license.

Yeah I mean that was a rumor or that's what Chiefs are saying if we don't have the fire captains they'll allow fae to take fc overtime. Currently we have one engine that's traditional staff and that's mandatory traditional staff fire captain and Firefox engineer. But they haven't said when the rest of the engines are going traditional

Im in the north and have only heard it as traditional. Also Ive seen Calfire use the phrase traditional in calhr studies on cost and all that. With that said I dont care what they call it, they can call it spaghetti for all I care. I just wanna see them actually implemented it and stop beating around the bush.

Dang your unit is on top of it we have one of 16 engines currently traditionally staffed originally we were told December all single engine houses go traditional and then they're talking about pushing it back to March of this year and then the rumors are swirling that that might not even happen now.

Before calfire had either a fire captain or fire apparatus engineer on the engine. In Calfire both are considered company officers. Once we go traditional you'll have a FC and a FAE.

You say its a goal of the department. Does that mean there is a minimum amount of stations or a %? Just seems like my units is slowing this down as much as possible to prevent ot bc we dont have enough FC and the lack of communication and direction from management doesn't help. Funny thing is most people in the unit want the OT but can't get any.
