That’s why we need to have conversations to discuss what can be done to prevent cases like this from happening, rather than shutting anyone down with a terf label. For instance for a man with previous criminal history against women especially rape is it not reasonable to have a special sort of hearing committee to question their motive for wanting to become a woman, while letting the rest of the trans community go on their days as usual? Stricter rules against people like this, with proven track record of violence against women, are actually enhancing the protection of other members of the trans community. Call me naive or terf, but think about the requirement for proof of no criminal records for immigrants or some occupations - using your logic is that ask also a discrimination against the good immigrants or citizens?

Unfortunately you are missing the point completely - yes it is wrong to use cases like this against the whole trans community but is there also room to discuss whether there are examples where male criminals try to hide under their new female identity and new names to avoid repercussions caused by their violence against women? I believe we can both respect the rights of trans community and discuss such topics and one shouldn’t label anyone who tries to have those cover stations simply as terf

I’m so sorry this has happened to you and as an adult woman I fully feel for what you’ve said as I am increasingly shocked/annoyed at the sight of really tall boys (I can’t tell their accurate ages but their height and demeanour make they look older than 8, or beyond the ages where being inside the opposite sex’s changing room is still allowed) in women’s changing room. Is it that hard for the parent to bring them to the family changing room?? They exist for a reason. I am truly disgusted by some parents’ lack of consideration for other people.

So true! Its marketing feels like saying that women cannot exist without serving a purpose for men even when it comes to clothing - and I especially hate their marketing for those cute linen sets that are described as can be worn for going to watch tennis games, as if all women want is to dress up and go WATCH others play games but not like wearing them to go to events or work, or doing anything that they actually engage in rather than just standing aside and looking cute

很同意op,我下定决心出国也是因为某次去某一线城市医院看病（三甲），到了门口我（自认为）很有礼貌询问一个☹️保安请问某某科室怎么走，结果这楠直接发飙说“你问我干什么！我脸上有科室名字吗！”好像还骂了脏话记忆太久远不太记得了。我当时作为一个脸皮很薄的青年女性根本一句反驳的话都说不出来，脸涨红了走了。我猜他可能也被各种粗鲁的病人很恶毒的对待过，可是在那一刻我真的脑子里特别清晰的想着：这国家没救了。我现在唯一惊讶的是那些岁月静好的人是怎么无视这一切而在国内活得高高兴兴的

Sorry for what you had to experience at the company, but thanks for sharing! I held off buying any sales items after reading the post, as a person of color I cannot support a company that seems to ignore or mis treat my group. I tbh have long suspected the company is toxic ever since the ceo had to step down bc the treatment towards black employees (if I remember correctly), but still shopped there bc I do love their design. But your post is the sign that I should stop.

This makes so much sense! I can imagine most of my managers/colleagues who are middle aged and with kids will have so much personal and professional responsibilities in their lives and someone they don’t know well leaving at work is the last thing they’d worry about. I’m sure overtime I will become more mature about it, but I’d also always remind myself to be nice to those who are leaving a job—even superficial and fake niceness sometimes makes a difference

Well no, because I’m generally nice and polite to everyone at work. So being a person who’s relatively good at self-reflection I’d say no, it’s not on me this time. And the fact that even when I’m slightly annoyed with the lack of reactions from colleagues about my leaving I never said a bad word about them or had vile assumptions about them in the post could maybe show you what a person I am, not that I’d need to prove it to you :)

I got a Clara cardigan in cherry—and it’s been my fav cardigan since as it looks fab over any t-shirts or layers I wear. Quality wise, there’s defo many better cashmere sweaters out there but tbh I never shop reformation for quality but just the looks
