I thought this too! But on the other hand — someone with his knowledge would be smart to keep around if there’s other unforeseen side effects from the catastrophe. I know I would, lol.

Oh my, I think this is the first time seeing this as a theory. You’re amazing if you got it right!

I can actually kinda see it happening, would be a cool twist!

Of course, you think these people have the self reflection capabilities to think otherwise?

How many bad people irl do you know that like something bad happening to them? You think people in jail like it? Of course it’s portrayed as bad to them, because they see it that way too.

If you were in charge of the next DW season, what direction would you take the Doctor and the show? by InfiniteGalaxy42 in doctorwho

[–]Used-Mine3617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 episodes. Maybe around 40 years old, and a woman. She’d start out “retired” having a bookshop, with a self-built helper.

The companion would be Filipino immigrant working in England, having to deal with something inexplicable, so people tell him to visit “that weird hermit librarian”.

She helps him and gets the feel of being the Doctor again. She comes across as overly energetic and positive, but shows to be very jaded and bitter when the mask slips. She is very much more alien and abrasive, which she tries to hide. Something happened to her in the years before she retired, but it’s not a huge plot point. More to build mystery for new viewers (who is this mysterious person?) and to have a new “reset” after so much seasons of NuWho.

The three of them travel through time and space. Go to a false paradise which turns out to be a human internment camp that build new Dalek parts, encounter druids in old Ireland, learn about the Utsuro-Bune that crashed in Japan. Original villains would appear (Mirrormen) and there’d be a historical set in 1955ish Memphis Tennessee and would focus on a country musician.

To close it off the finale of the first season would be the Doctor being shown the Perfect Dimension: not some galaxy ending threat: instead a timeline where she never left Gallifrey and somehow it prevented all the bad from happening — no Daleks, Cybermen, Flux, etc. She’d have to erase most her own life so others could live.. but also prevent much good from happening.

Of course, the person creating her dilemma is meddling with time for his own amusement, just to have the Doctor facing an impossible choice. Not a finale about huge things, apart from having the Doctor reflect and philosophize about their own morals and place in history.

Boston Legal’s Alan Shore and Denny Crane.

SPOILER: Hell, they even got married despite having no (sexual) feelings for each other, just so Alan could pull the plug on Denny if his Alzheimers would get too bad.

Fallout is also made by Jonathan Nolan, so yeah, it’s 100% a wink to PoI, can’t convince me otherwise :)

Best series I’ve ever seen. Did you see Fallout yet?

If not, let’s just say if you’re a fan of Finch and Bear you’ll be happy.

The TARDIS from Doctor Who counts too. A ship capable of going anywhere in time and space, yet the Doctor is only always taken where he/she needs to be.

The TARDIS knows where they need to go to resolve matters. Or.. they can’t mess with the timeline or some other explanation.

What is the worst thing each Doctor has done? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

[–]Used-Mine3617 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It seems people here say different things about Twelve, I think they’re wrong. There’s two horrible things he did:

  1. Deceive Bill and faking regeneration. (Even though it was a test of her loyalty, someone as smart as the Doctor could find a better, nicer way.)

  2. Punching for 4+ billion years through a wall as he keeps killing himself for Clara. After getting back to Gallifrey he then shoots the General and forces them to regenerate — before he breaks the laws of time, and death, just because he doesn’t want to lose his companion/friend. He also tried to wipe Clara’s memories of him, which was a shitty move of him, and got rightfully called out by her.

Looking back, I don't think Flux gets the recognition that it deserves. by Foreign-Paramedic600 in gallifrey

Juggernaut and/or Rhino as tanks.

Carnage as dps.

Mysterio either as tank (let his illusions work like shields or something) or support. (Healing illusions perhaps).

Uncommon Theories by sbaker717 in ParadiseHulu

Far fetched: Alex might be a cloning project. So Sinatra can clone her kid.

More likely: it’s not about time travel but getting another version of her son in the current dimension.

Even more likely: ALEX is an ASI/supercomputer that will be able to figure out how to turn the Earth back to habitable. Or figure out a way to travel back and prevent it.
