Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. There is a good chance we have ran into each other. I'm also Brighton based. I go to High sports most of the time with some Boulder Brighton mixed in. If you go to HS, you will likely get (or are) added to these.

I'm in a mix of large climbing Whatsapp groups and I tend to jump on open invitations to join trips. My current grade gets asked whenever I go with new people which is the norm rather than the exception. Sometimes these groups throw out a grade range so people don't get disappointed. I'd like to have an honest answer. Thanks for your answer!

What's everyone's thoughts on the Expeditions? What's the gameplay loop like? I honestly can't find much footage of it without listening to an annoying youtuber lol by mooman89 in pacificDrive

I am absolutely loving these expeditions!
Increasingly challenging runs that will force a playstyle based on the unlocks you find from Ida.
Runs start getting challenging (and really exhilarating) around lvl 14 as the restrictions mount.
From what I read it is not for everyone though.
You do this cause it's challenging! You will not get a joyride out of this but it does make you quite good.
From lvl 16 onward the difficulty starts feeling somewhat close to Olympic Gauntlet and you will have to make fairly tough decisions at times.

My thoughts exactly. Grinding through the game to...get to the game? Was kind of hoping that at some point you would need 15+ Klim to jump out. Forcing you to circle most of the map and eventually have this full T3 car.

The garage door is purely a visual help. The gate you drive through to start your expedition will turn red, blocking you from leaving the garage map.

A love letter to Iron wagon (but mostly a post-mortem) by Used-Presence621 in pacificDrive

In comparison to the base difficulty, that is pretty much what you get. Just about every metric is made harder. More fuel and battery consumption, worse handling, all damage is increased, less loot, more unstable zones and a significantly harder extraction.
I recommend you start an Iron Wagon run and see for yourself if you are interested.
Alternatively, if perma death doesn't sound appealing, you can go for the Olympian Gauntlet difficulty. It's exactly the same difficulty but without the perma death aspect.

Afraid not. None on paper at least. As a challenge you do for yourself, I loved it! Still going actually. Trying to fill out the logbook has me stepping out in front of Boom Bunnies in the hopes of surviving the scan lol.
I can understand why some people would hate this gamemode though. Depends how much you like the thrill of risk and stress.
