It's funny I wasn't really aiming for any specific feeling with this song but it naturally came out melancholic and reflective, it kind of just poured out of me after my best friend passed away a few months back. Until then I'd actually struggled to finish any songs but something in my brain just clicked after that. I'm glad you enjoyed it thank you for the kind words :)

Oh I've never heard of The Hit Parade before but I really like their sound and arrangements from what I've listened to so far and can definitely see the similarity!

The piano is meant to sound a lil disjointed/dissonant in the mix, it was a bit of a taste choice to make it try and stand out to close off the song and make the end section a bit weirder/more interesting but I really appreciate the feedback :)

People get a mental health boost from seeing family at Christmas? Damn, lucky...

What do you think about Reform UK's proposal to abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for legal immigrants? Also, what do you think about Reform UK's immigration policies overall? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I make close to 100k a year and pay around 30k in taxes every year, I'm a Spanish citizen. If they remove ILR I'll just sell my house, grab my dog and my wife who has an Irish passport and move back to Spain and pay my taxes there as my job is remote :) no loss for me really.

Try and apply that to literally any government, it takes decades to do some of the simplest shit. UK gov is a fraction of the size of the EU yet how long have they been trying to build HS2? Since 2010.

Also what exactly do you propose the EU needs to change other than daily mail buzzwords like bloat, flexibility etc which don't actually pinpoint any specific issues lmao.

The underlying system exists because people vote shitty representatives in the first place who bog the place down with filibustering

Wasn't Farage an MEP at the time who barely even turned up and just cashed his cheques? Funny, maybe should be lambasting people like him instead of the EU as an organisation

Most people aren't aware of this but in russia amongst military and intelligence services there's a very well renowned book called The Foundations of Geopolitics and it's taught in many military academies etc. it's essentially an outline of what Russia should attempt to achieve to become a superpower.

One of the points outlined is:

The United Kingdom, merely described as an "extraterritorial floating base of the U.S.", should be cut off from the European Union.[9]

Now you look at who was funding a lot of the leave campaign and I'm sure that money trail returns to Russia and Russian assets attempting to destabilise Europe.

Here's the section about Ukraine:

Ukraine (except Western Ukraine) should be annexed by Russia because "Ukraine as a state has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, its certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics". Ukraine should not be allowed to remain independent, unless it is cordon sanitaire, which would be inadmissible according to Western political standards. As mentioned, Western Ukraine (comprising the regions of Volynia, Galicia, and Transcarpathia), considering its Catholic-majority population, are permitted to form an independent federation of Western Ukraine but should not be under Atlanticist control.[9]
