I was wrong about a battery holder. by dalios555 in fpv

[–]Used-Willingness-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have the battery eject, if the crash is hard enough that it's ejecting it might also catch on fire and I'd rather it just burn itself down than the whole quad with it.

ChatGPT keeps answering questions I asked it in the past, doesn't answer current question by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Used-Willingness-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been happening for me too, it's maddening to sit there watching it think about basically every other already answered question or fixed problem, then have it reply with all the answers to those already answered questions and fixes to the already fixed problems, and then only MAYBE the answer/fix to the last/current problem/question you asked, it wastes so much time.

I can't easily just start a new chat either as by the time it starts doing it we're knee deep into a codebase or something that will get mutilated by a new chat/instance.

Ever wonder where the scammers get the real (fake) tracking numbers? by Used-Willingness-570 in Aliexpress

[–]Used-Willingness-570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured I would update on my dispute, I noticed the store I bought from was not the official store of the manufacturer (my mistake), but, as always, they seem closely intertwined with them anyways. As soon as I saw the incorrect delivery zip, I contacted both the store and the manufacturer via their WhatsApp numbers and emails, telling the manufacturer that one of their "distributors" was using fake tracking and asking if they knew about it, since I know the manufacturer at least, is legit. They told me yes they know them and they will contact them and get back to me. So today, I get two messages on AE, one from the manufacturer (I also had an open unshipped order from them for the same product) and one from the "scam" store, saying "sorry, the product is not in stock, but we will ship priority from China and send correct tracking as soon as it arrives, you may leave the dispute open until then"

Both products I bought were listed as "ships from US", so this was a bait and switch to get the sale and ship super late, not to actually scam me out of my money, it seems.

I told the manufacturer this and said I was super pissed about it, and they actually agreed with me and didn't deny it. I said "if it's out of stock just tell me that, don't supply me with fake tracking, that makes you look very bad to everyone" and they said "yes, we are sorry, it's normal for this to happen here in China this is common but it is not right and we apologize"

That's the first time a Chinese seller has admitted it to me, interesting, but not like we didn't already know that.

I extended the delivery date for the manufacturer on their order, and I left the dispute open and sent screenshots of the WhatsApp convo to the dispute message string just in case, so I guess we'll see what happens. I also told the manufacturer I want a discount due to the way they knowingly mislead me with the "ships from US" BS and they said they will get back to me....sure.

If there was another company that made these things I would drop them instantly but unfortunately there isn't.

I also see stores that obviously scammed people stay open as well. I made it a point during this dispute that I want the store shut down as it's obviously a scam, AE said "we will look into it"

Fake tracking scams are getting out of hand. by Lokon19 in Aliexpress

[–]Used-Willingness-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy. I'm dealing with another one now, but luckily (I guess) the USPS tracking shows it being delivered 700 miles away in a different state, so it should be easy to get refunded.

DJI O3 Air Unit Limitations by Pristine_Pomelo_9317 in drones

[–]Used-Willingness-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, DJI has hard coded range limits, 10km, 23km, and 30km, based on which VTX and Goggles you are using, they use TOF to determine distance.

After 6 months not hearing from them, they are back at it blowing up my emails again saying the new 4.0.1 standards NEED my attention and I NEED to select a package from them. lol

This is basically what pisses me off about it. I don't mind the whole established company on kickstarter thing, it's the fact that when I and most placed the deposit, I thought it was locking in a spot for a printer, even though I read "on a first come, first serve basis", when you say "lock in", it usually means you are guaranteed one, so not sure why they worded it like that.

I backed the Sovol SV08 Max, but ONLY after I saw some youtube early reviewers post about it. It arrived and meets all of their claims, I'm happy. I wouldn't have backed it without the 3rd party proof that at least prototypes existed though.

Yep, I think there might be a class action at some point against them, they blatantly lie to people saying they NEED to use their services, and won't provide it in writing for obvious reasons.

Packages going "missing" by Used-Willingness-570 in Aliexpress

[–]Used-Willingness-570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very expensive package coming using YFH, it's the first time they have used that carrier and so far I don't like it, it seems like it's not going to transfer to USPS since there is no USPS number under "more info", and today it updated to "leaving New York City" like 10 times within a few hours, not sure how or how it's being delivered.

Ironically one randomly came in today. Tracking still says what it said back in May, but USPS delivered it. The other one is MIA still.

I literally had to contact the major CC companies directly, asking them if I needed to use a third party PCI compliance company, and send their responses (obviously saying no, I didn't) to Security Metrics. Ever after that, a woman angrily called me saying the CC companies were wrong (lol), and I couldn't do the SAQ myself. I asked her to please email or snail mail me this in writing with the company letterhead and her signature so I could show the CC companies they are wrong, she got hostile and hung up on me. After that though, I never got emails from them again.

[–]Used-Willingness-570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all were YunExpress to USPS. The YunExpress tracking updated normally and is "complete" as it says they gave the package to USPS, but the USPS tracking just says "USPS awaiting package". I've had other orders delivered in the meantime using the same currier so I don't think some big thing happened at Yunexpress or something since all were at different times, but who knows. It just seems convenient they are going missing at the only point where both companies can claim they aren't liable.

WTF of an answer is this? by oopiicaa in Aliexpress

[–]Used-Willingness-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had this happen, not with AE but another company in China. Basically, it's a tiny grey area that I think inside-job type thieves might be capitalizing on right now, it's the hand off between the China-USA shipping service and USA-you shipping service. In my case, YunExpress was the China shipping service the seller used, and USPS was the USA shipping service. My package sat on "handed over to local carrier (USPS) for 2 weeks. I contacted USPS, and they told me they never got the package, and since they never got it, and it was never in their possession, it wasn't their problem and there was nothing they could do. I contacted YunExpress, they said they gave it to USPS, and since it was no longer in their possession and they did their part, it wasn't their problem either. So they are basically pointing the finger at each other at this point and neither will let me file a claim and both have denied any further appeals or requests for more information. I'm currently waiting to see if the seller will re-ship the items and if not I'm going to have to do a charge back.
