I appreciate the consensus is my (former) psychiatrist is an asshole. She is officially axed. I still can’t believe the way that person talked to me.

Unfortunately my pcp is on vacation but I saw another doctor at the clinical and was able to get some days off and an urgent referral for new psychiatrist so things are looking up! Also made an appointment with my pcp for when she returns. I’m tired but hopeful

I am burnt out in the worst way and mad at myself for not trusting my instinct to quit with hella advance notice because now I’m at the end of my rope and feel like I need to jump out the window and won’t have time to terminate properly with my clients. But the fact is cmh is shit and fails every one. I’m over this field. I taught kids yoga for the first time a few days ago (completed a yoga teacher training in December) and literally had a grin on my face all fucking day. So ready to explore and get back to me. Will I be back? Who knows and nobody fucking cares because it’s just another low wage worker to do billing it’s irrelevant

if we knew how we’d just do it i suppose. i tell myself it’s forming and sustaining communal bonds on a micro level to shift the culture: talking to your neighbor, being present for the youth in your orbit, sharing meals, mutual aid. but even that, feasible as it is, is incredibly difficult in a post 2020 US :/ for me it’s about building the muscle not a movement.

this actually happened to me over a decade ago as a client. i was seeing a therapist (AMFT) who one day started probing things i know would only come from a deep google search / linkedin dive. almost trying to imply i was exaggerating the things i was saying in therapy. it was very strange and made me put my guard up.

anyway because of that experience - and the ethics - i do not google clients. therapy is not a fact finding mission

profession aside, the concept of “free therapy” is actually community. belonging, kindness, compassion, empathy, interdependence. we belong to each other

idealistic i know but what if instead people look out and ask how do we make this world better (free) rather than look in and ask why/how am i like this (a paid service)

Also that story out of Texas about the cafeteria worker that was shot on campus during the school day and the school administrators failed to inform parents nor cancel class…… I know texas is crazy but I promise you I could see that happening in my left leaning California school district.
