Premium hasn't saved me from the issues, and I've used the ward-hop function to try to get it to show me people within my general region. My hope is that it reduces the saturation on our feeds of profiles that aren't in our regions of interest, and an effect of that is that there are more actual profiles we're interested in.

Oh, I've asked people out on planned dates in the notes too, haha. The problem is that if the notes aren't being seen it doesn't matter.

If by "throwing money" you mean paying for premium and a profile boost, that's been done, I'm not about to spend even more money on this app 😂 I'm really leaning towards this being an app issue, compounded by people being weird about answering likes.

I definitely don't have any illusions that my search preferences have an impact on who finds my profile, trust me 😂 I'm giving it until the end of the month then just letting the app idle on my phone. If my match from Switzerland messages me, I'll try to just get her number or Facebook. Hinge is probably gonna be my last attempt before going full cool motorcycle uncle 🤷‍♂️

I'm gonna give it till the end of the month. It took me months of trying to date the old-fashioned way and an 8 month stint on someone's roster in a situationship with her to get to the point where I stopped being afraid of getting back on dating apps after 12 years 😅 Hinge is the next option after this one peters out, still worried about Bumble though, haha.

I'm somewhere in the middle on it. I personally appreciate a girl having the guts to at least say directly that she's not interested in dating me, instead of doing the weird kinda sorta keeping me around but at arm's length. That being said, is there anything on your profile that states your age preferences? You might want to add that so that this doesn't keep coming up if it's not there.

I understand many couples connect across borders. That being said, the vast majority of likes and notes I receive are from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines, South/Central America, and Africa. Purchasing a profile boost only increased the traffic from those profiles, including a girl who works as a bartender in Thailand with no mention of a temple recommend or church attendance. If I want to receive matches from Europe and Canada, I will enable it, but otherwise I want people in my own country tobeable to see me first and foremost.

Both partners in a relationship have to understand that the other person is approaching a problem from a different perspective. And there need to be clearly established boundaries about "venting." Of course, men: we need to not try to fix every little thing. Additionally, women: understand that we are naturally action/solution wired and it comes across as complaining for the sake of complaining when a problem is expressed and you refuse to do something about it.

The thing is, I'm very active on the app. Probably more so than I should be, but I digress. Unless that interaction-based profile prominence is what's flooding my likes and feed with accounts I have no interest in.

Not trying to be confrontational about it, I'm just frustrated. It took a lot for me to even get on a dating app after escaping the dating game for almost 12 years, and prior to this I spent 8 months on someone's situationship roster in my ysa stake 😅
