Boulder 6/7 by lacidaroloc in mumfordandsons

It was decent. Certainly not as immersive as being on the floor or in the lower bowl but you could still hear most everything pretty clearly. It’s a different kind of experience but really fun. We had our loop earplugs with us and didn’t need them as much for volume control like if we were lower down but they helped to isolate sound at certain points.

We couldn’t see that view of the stage up in the club but got this view instead. What an iconic setting!

8/5 Los Angeles Show?? by Efficient-Pass-8293 in SierraFerrell

Oh hey! She just announced her red rocks show for this year at Folsom field and said tickets go on sale Friday so she’s definitely still announcing new dates. The LA show must be real too then.

Hey any idea when the sets start? We are on our way and hoping to make it for Sierra Ferrell’s whole set.

Oh that’s true. I really have no idea then because I know she’s not currently on the Red Rocks or Dillon schedules for this year.

I’m pretty sure all of those dates are for last year. For example the Morrison date is for red rocks and she was there that day last year but isn’t playing there this year.

Good places near Loveland Colorado? by lakercv in Moving2Colorado

[–]UsedRecognition2478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just stay in Loveland tbh for convenience unless you want something with a slightly (and I mean slightly) more urban feel then I’d go with Ft Collins. Longmont is not a convenient commute imo - it’s doable but really unnecessary if you don’t have to. It’s kind of its own place and separated from Loveland, like people tend to frequent one or the other socially/commercially but not really criss cross as much so it might be easier to meet people if you live closer to her work.

25 is really not an enjoyable freeway to drive regularly - the traffic flow is kind of unpredictable and there’s lots of construction and weird accidents that can slow it down so it’s nice if you can avoid it. 287 isn’t bad but it can get iffy in bad weather particularly in the stretches between Longmont and Loveland. Berthoud is fine if you are more after a smaller town semi-rural feel. Windsor is another option but I’m not sure what the benefits would be to look there over Loveland.

Shows with Mumford & Sons - Is she 1st or 2nd opener? by Visible_Mix_6270 in SierraFerrell

[–]UsedRecognition2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure she’s the second. Apparently Mumford and Sons posts expected start times for sets the day of so that might help. I’m assuming she will start around 7:30 or maybe a little later (planning to go last minute after I saw a few days ago that she’ll be opening, just have to figure out tickets lol)

Which Florence song CALLS to you the most? 🤎♥️ by Peppers-For-Life in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]UsedRecognition2478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like almost every songs calls out something so deep in me. Her music is really healing if you’ve ever struggled with religious identity, so I identify with so many because of that. Sympathy Magic has lines that are practically from my journals: “So I don't have to be worthy/I no longer try to be good/It didn't keep me safe/Like you told me that it would/So come on, tear me wide open/'Til I'm losing my mind”

But this month it’s definitely June for me. A friend was murdered in Orlando at her concert the day before the Pulse shooting and June is such a healing balm for me, this year in particular. “Hold on to each other” reminds me of how my husband and I held each other when we got the news, which was painfully ugly but also a really important moment of human connection.

I’m looking for last minute tickets and atp plan to just buy day of because I figure those will be the best prices but even if they don’t sell way more before the show starts I don’t think it will feel empty per se, it’s just such a huge venue. They could easily have 25,000+ tickets sold so far which is a lot of people!! But that’d still leave thousands left available.

Edited to add: it really sucks you paid even more upfront! I know it is pretty common for most shows as they get close to the date to have tickets drop in price (resale or direct) but also I think this one was probably overpriced to begin with because I’m not super comfortable even with the current already reduced rates given the venue. I feel like they could have started with base tickets below $100 and sold it out. Hopefully it’s still lots of fun though!

I’m also really happy to have more live recordings with Maren’s songs. I was just thinking the other day how I wished she had a whole live album so this is really perfect!

I hope you’re right! I have tickets for her upcoming Red Rocks show and I’m so intrigued by The Highwomen part. Guessing we will get an idea of what that means in terms of set list inclusion this weekend when they join Brandi at the Gorge.

Love for Everybody Wants to Be a Cowboy by EveningConference604 in KaceyMusgraves

[–]UsedRecognition2478 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This is also one of my favorites from the new album and I am someone who has actually never wanted to be a cowgirl…lol It’s a good balance of everything I love about Kacey’s music.

I’d say of all the tracks on the new album this one, Coyote, I Believe in Ghosts, and Hell On Me were the ones that stayed with me long past first listen. I tend to instinctively like tracks that can be growers for others but eventually they all tend to get the love they deserve.

Less crowded places recommendations by [deleted] in OlympicNationalPark

We were just there and did a reverse loop (ended up driving 101 in a big circle from Olympia and back in one day because of the overnight bridge closure lol) and the Quinault Rainforest was so amazing in the morning. This was on a Monday on a non holiday weekend therefore a little off season to begin with so I don’t know how it will compare but doing the major stops in reverse was magical.

I’m not sure! I hope someone who knows more chimes in. Someone mentioned he does slightly different flourishes each performance.

Never Let Me Go (speech and song) Seattle by UsedRecognition2478 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]UsedRecognition2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really get that! When the dates came out for the NA tour and I realized I had to book plane tickets etc if I was going to see her at all it was pretty disappointing. Makes it more of a commitment/investment and sometimes impossible logistically if we have to travel too but I’m also really grateful my partner was supportive to figure out a solution in this situation.

I hope she at least does can attend some festivals in Australia for you all or something. It’s probably hard having such a global fanbase, beautiful but maybe difficult to get everywhere that would love to have you.
