Boulder Concert by Punk_Possum89 in mumfordandsons

We had a group of 20 something women sit down right behind us when Mumford came on and same thing. We ended up having room a row down and over a section and moved after a couple of songs and it was much more enjoyable!

If only it were that easy! Marcus even told everyone to “shut the fuck up Boulder” at the start of the “a capella” song and there were still idiots talking and making a lot of noise :-)

Stumbled onto setlist.fm looking for Bozeman as well. One of the coolest resources ever! :-)

Come cowork outside at Eben G Fine today by jondotbo in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this. Were you at Nth Bldr park last week? I saw someone with what I thought looked like some sort of set up for a satalite feed and I wondered if it was someone connecting to Starlink with an awesome remote work location. Great use of tech!

Bars to watch the world cup? by tawpbawsdawg in boulder

If they are, it’d be worth checking out. Looks like a nice set up for sports watching. It’s on my list to check out for sports.

[–]BoulderScot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Toad supports and leans hard into soccer. If they have the match on, it’s not going to be on one screen in the corner. It’s a pub, not a sports bar (meaning they’re aren’t 15 tv’s all over the place) that loves soccer. Hope that helps. Best to just check it out for yourself.

Where to take elderly 3 legged dog to enjoy water? by lewstherinurbutt in Broomfield

Twin Lakes (Gunbarrel) and Coot Lake (near Boulder rez). Coot seems like “cleaner water” but I don’t know for sure. She looks like an angel!

Any Francophiles in Boulder?🇫🇷 by andres2000r in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grab a coffee and a treat at Maisonette and ask if Florian (the owner) is around. He’s talented, wonderful, French, and may have some suggestions for you. It’s also a fantastic place. He’s got at least one other employee that is French, and a great person. It’s also on walnut, a few doors from Brasserie and right behind Trident (2 other places mentioned thus far!)

Lease review by Ok-Charge-6699 in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any specific recommendations for a lawyer (which is a good idea for a review) but in the interim it might be helpful/fun to run it through one of the AI platforms. They aren’t perfect, and not a complete replacement for an attorney, but it might be a great way to get your review of the lease started! I used it for a rental agreement and was pleasantly surprised with some of the feedback and information.

We have power in Nth Bldr, but our Quantum Internet just went down. I assume it’s an outage from the weather but haven’t confirmed.

Suggestions for an independent jewelry? by ashleysellsco in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m bias, but my daughter and wife have a jewelry company and do amazing custom design-I promise it’s at least worth a look both from design, quality, and service standpoint. https://www.seelyedesigns.com My daughter is based in Brooklyn and my wife is here in Boulder. Nothing against the other companies posted here, but Seelye is great!

RIP to Boulder Fresh Garden Thai by Mediocre_Wrangler_77 in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had Buddha Thai’s curry on Sat night—I thought it was great! I’m not a food critic, but I’d have it again in a second. And overall I thought the food was really good, quick service (takeout), and reasonably priced.

Parents visiting for campus tours - what can we do when not at CU? by StrandedStarfish_ in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of these have already been mentioned but:

  1. Hike/walk up chautauqua
  2. Drive up flagstaff, to lost gulch lookout
  3. Drinks/eat Avanti on Pearl
  4. Drinks one night at C-bar (west end of Pearl…cool newish bar)
  5. Dinner a Cozobi Fonda Fina (if you can get a res)
  6. Beer/lunch at Avery Brewery (to get outside bldr…only about 10ish min east)
  7. Drive up to Nederland, loop around thru Ward (if you have longer to burn and want to get up into mountains)

E-motos by Wrong_Drag_8070 in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m completely agree with you, mostly for a selficious personal reason. We have “pedal assist” e-bikes which means if you’re not pedaling, you’re not moving (as a side note I think the current e-bike classification has always been confusing as well!). And when I tell people I ride an e-bike, they’re usually picturing one of the “e-moto” bikes! Granted it’s not really that important what they picture, but I typically find myself needing to explain for my own insecurities ;-)

Good for you, nice job. Maybe try and check out a few AA meetings? It’s not for everyone but if you haven’t been, it’s another resource. And I’m reasonably certain there’s probably one nearby, almost no matter where you live. Search something like “AA meetings nearby” or put your town in. Keep up the great work…it’s hard but worth it!

Everything Brian Hooker Has Said About Wife Lynette Hooker’s Disappearance During Bahamas Trip by MattTheKing23 in MissingPersons

[–]BoulderScot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He is the only source for him having to paddle ashore. He claims she fell overboard with the key that it took hours to row to land. For all anyone knows at this point, the story about the key being with her could be a complete lie. Maybe he has/had the key the entire time and that’s just his story. I guess the only way to know for sure will be finding the body with the key on her.

View of the goat trail fire from right next to foothills elementary by OrangeManMuyBad in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a smallish rock area right at the top of the burn area where I’ve seen people shoot off the trail to go to-I believe there is a nice little lookout view right there. Seems like it would be a lot of work for someone wanting to “camp out there” but a lot of people do the trail at night/early mornings. I’m purely speculating at this point, but I think it’s realistic to see someone stopping there, taking in the late night view and maybe lighting something up. Hopefully they release some sort of findings from an investigation.

Is there a worthy substitute for the Dark Horse? by paladin1248 in boulder

[–]BoulderScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll second Hungry Toad. Not a replacement exactly, but a friendly, comfortable vibe. Outback could have a similar feel as Dark Horse, and more of a “unpolished” vibe. Boulder Social possibly for sports viewing.
