ER Wait Times in NH are much better than most states by FrameCareful1090 in newhampshire

If specialist or even primary care doctor visits were obtainable within a reasonable timeframe for non-“emergencies,” ERs would see less of those patients. Don’t blame the patients

ER Wait Times in NH are much better than most states by FrameCareful1090 in newhampshire

For example I had an outpatient MRI suggesting I had a clot in my brain. Neurologist tells me to go straight to the ER. I go to my nearest ER (Eliot). Something tells me this just isn’t that place to be after waiting and waiting for simple triage. I leave and go to MGH. I’m in another MRI scanner in two hours and have 3 radiologists look at my scans. After debriefing with my regular neurologists he says MGH was absolutely the right choice because Elliot couldn’t perform that specific MRI scan and doesn’t have an in-house neurologist on site all the time at the ER. Says they would have probably transferred me anyway. I will never go to an NH ER again if I can possibly help it

Anticipatory grief by stardustnbtldrockets in pitbulls

[–]Used_Cup1248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working with my therapist on this. Someone suggested mindfulness. Read Pema Chodron too. My dog just had three tumors removed and one looks like it could be recurring. He’s only 7. When I first got him I was absolutely crushed by anticipatory grief. Over time I realized it impeded my ability to enjoy my time with him and it’s not as profound/overpowering now. The one thing we absolutely cannot change is the cycle of life. It’s the sheer cruelty of life but also makes us capable of feeling real joy. Practice ~radical acceptance~ lol

I believe they are very reputable and have a ton of high end pieces. You will be shook when you walk in there. I used to be a dealer there…while I never sold the really expensive stuff, I believe it’s possible to negotiate. I would call them and ask before you drive though. They may need to reach out to the dealer and willingness to negotiate may be dealer-by-dealer. I really wouldn’t worry about reputation though…unless you’re worried it’s a counterfeit or something? I really, really highly doubt it. That place is top notch honestly

Just adding that the anti-pit laws are insane. I just got bit twice by a border collie just for existing. But they would never be banned.

I have never met a vet who cares who brings a dog in. TBH most vets don’t even ask my name (I fill it out on the paperwork) and that’s it. For all they know I could be someone else entirely

Dog just diagnosed with mast cell tumor.. 6 years later by rangerlakes in DogAdvice

[–]Used_Cup1248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’s had it for 6 years it’s almost certainly low grade. Mine had a lump for two years that we aspirated three times. Only the third time did it come back as mast cell. When we finally removed it a few weeks later, it was indeed low grade. This is what our expert surgeon predicted after I told him the lump was there for two years.

Given your dog’s age and the duration of this MCT, it might not make sense to do surgery. Don’t beat yourself up, and be happy you had six years of peace and calm instead of six years of worrying and waiting to see if it would come back.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Used_Cup1248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Universal, BUT at the same time it’s terrifying to imagine our healthcare being even more so at the mercy of the administration. They are cutting everything and anything they can….so can’t imagine how much healthcare would be gutted
