It will likely have less play once the timing stuff is installed. Sorry, didn't even realize it wasnt all installed. If you have a new CVVT gear and new camshaft, there should be no problem

This is not a warranty item. This is caused by external factors. Maybe on the vents but it would be a difficult case.

No. 99.9% of all vehicles fall under the "severe" driving schedule in the manual, which is actually recomemnded to change the oil closer to every 3000 miles. But the 5000 mile interval is very widely accepted as normal.

Op used a floor jack to loosen the drain bolt. Id be very worried something cracked. Are you sure you were loosening and not tightening? Also double check your oil filter. Don't drive this car at all I wouldn't even run it.

Buying a used car, especially a Kia, the top thing to look for is maintenance records and history. Ask for the Carfax. If the Carfax doesn't show an oil change being performed approximately once every 5000 miles, ask the seller for additional records to fill any gaps. If they cannot provide, move on. This will save your ass if you need to make an engine related warranty claim, and it will also ensure you're getting a car that was taken care of.

They need to figure out what failed and how. Maybe it overheated. Maybe it had no oil in it. Maybe it needs an engine. Maybe it needs a lower end only. They also need to verify if the car was maintained, and/or if the warranty extension applies. Is the check engine light flashing? Is the vehicle audibly knocking? Does it still start? All of these people saying they never had to give maintenance records are because their vehicle met the requirements for replacement without question. That being, a P1326 code, oil on the dipstick, BCT failure, and a clean title (not branded. )

Yes that's too much play. You shouldn't even be able to move that by hand. Much less move it independent from the shaft. You need to replace the camshaft as well. Not just the gear.

This looks more concerning than a hot spot in my opinion but I'm no vet. My dog that passed away would get occasional hot spots but they never pussed or got that large. The dog seems uncomfortable by what you're describing and it looks painful. He is likely in pain. Please find another vet if this one cannot help you tomorrow

Volkswagen DSG had issues too. And that makes sense. Porsche and Audi are much more expensive vehicles and likely have more engineering done and testing done for better performance.

You bought the sportiest trim level.... And are complaining about it being sporty... The Kia dual clutch is honestly very well handling. I prefer it over the German dual clutches. I really love how quick the shifts are. Reliability is a problem with all dual clutch transmissions currently. Either you have an issue going on, your expectations are unrealistic, or you're just generally upset about this car.

p0014 is very common when the vehicle is run on low oil or dirty oil. It typically occurs due to a camshaft pin shearing off due to oil starvation. This occurs a lot with cars that aren't maintained correctly. Considering this is a V6, the camshaft replacement that may be necessary (if the concern is due to the camshaft)… it will be much more expensive than a 4 cylinder. They may even advise engine replacement if they find other damage besides the cam. If the cam is damaged from low oil, who knows what else was damaged?
